I have taken one course at Pratt ...Text Art. It was fabulous the trouble is all of their classes seem to be during the day which is fine if you are independently wealthy, own your own business or have an employer who will let you work a modified work schedule or vacation. I ended up taking a day off of work sort of. (I went in early and worked 6 to 9:30 and then went to my class.). I was totally immersed in it for 3 days straight and I loved it. A fantastic experience and well worth it if you can get your work to work with you on it. If not...there are other places around that teach and most likely will teach in the evening.

Good Luck.

Yeah -- this is less about the classes and more about shop access. We can do a lot at our shop, but we aren't really set up for jewelry work, nor casting or forging.

You should talk to chaoselemental, who's been spending a lot of time at Pratt preparing for a show. She's also balancing dayjob and studio time, and may be able to put you in touch with folks.

Thank you. That would be really, really cool. Is she whom I talked with at that brunch at Crave, lo these many months ago?
