Al was dead tired, and hadn't slept at all. He felt he should be by Rachel's side, but the living was always more important... as terrible as it sounded. He'd go as soon as she was awake.

When Negi finally slept, Al had found his brother's arm and spent some time cleaning and polishing it up. It was calming; something he used to do for his own armor.

When he heard Ed come home, he walked out into the kitchen, carrying the heavy steel prosthetic. He set it on the table and without a word, went over to kneel next to Ed, reaching in to begin cleaning out the port with gentle, steady fingers.

Al was there and Ed knew it, but he didn't say hello yet. He was too heavy into his own thoughts, trying to think about something lighter and failing. On this day, they burned their house down. They could never go back to what they had before.

A few days ago, friends -supposedly- left this home. Was it the same thing? Rachel wanted to return, but what about the others? Could Ed feel comfortable having people who didn't trust him back in his home?

A heavy sigh came from Ed as he let Al prepare the port. "She's worried she won't have her voice."

"She hasn't tried singing yet?"

Al's a little surprised. He'd think she'd have at least tried humming a bit.

Alphonse, on the other hand, has faith that Blaine and the others will see sense eventually. It wasn't Negi's fault.

"I guess she's still resting, hm."

"She has some pretty heavy damage there. She should rest." Ed turned to look at Al this time, his face still stoic with the mix of emotions. It was hard to see Rachel like that. And it was even harder to leave. Regardless of the fact that she'd been a 'bratty teenager,' he couldn't switch off his emotions. She may love someone else, but he still cared for her.

"Told her she was gonna sing regardless." Whether it was through her own voice or someone else's, there was no way she would stop.
