Summary: Even though Rachel is recovering in the clinic, Ed still makes time to remember the beginning of his journey.
It was just after midnight when Ed made it back to Solve. The teen was exhausted both mentally and physically and when he plopped down on the chair he almost tipped the chair over. Ed hadn't showered, hadn't brushed his hair, hadn't paid attention that his arm was still off his body. He hadn't eaten or really drank much while he was in the clinic, and he definitely hadn't done much sleeping in that uncomfortable chair he'd been provided. The reason why he'd been at the clinic was because Negi wasn't allowed. Alphonse had stayed with Negi back at the house and while Blaine was pissed and up in Ed's face about him being at the clinic, Blaine couldn't do shit.
The brunett had been taller, but all Ed had to do was challenge him. One punch. If Ed went down, he'd leave. And he was one armed, so it'd be a piece of cake right? There was no way Blaine could hit effectively and sent the fighter down.
After seeing Rachel, he returned home. He needed sleep, food, something. Being mentally out of it didn't help as he stared at the table. Slowly, he dug into his pocket and pulled out his pocket watch and tossed it on the table. The silver watch wobbled as it spun on the table, finally settling with the dragon symbol upside down. He reached out, clicking the button to release the latch and stared at the scrawl he made the first day he was a State Alchemist.
