Of course, startling and then annoying Lucifer was akin to chucking a wasp nest at a rabid bear. He landed in front of his brother and immediately seized him by the throat.

"Turn it off. Now."

....Okay, that was not the reaction he was expecting, but at least it worked. The mental feed snapped off as he cut off the link completely again, giving him that comfortable and utterly lonely illusion of utter isolation- how did humans cope with the fact that they couldn't feel each other out like that? He'd had his quieted for millenniums and it just felt perversely wrong somehow.

Either way, it was irrelevant to the fact that he wasn't alone and it was very hard to focus on your family issues when one of your family issues is trying to choke you. Good thing he wasn't using that windpipe or anything.

"Love you too, bro," he gagged.

Lucifer dropped him abruptly and would have been gone, if their other family issues hadn't spent a good hour making him regret that he'd ever taken a vessel with breakable bones.

He took one painful step back and had to stop. So he pretended it was intentional.

"What do you want?"

Gabriel slouched uncomfortably as soon as he hit the ground- his brothers needed shorter vessels, stat, but even focusing on his own aggravation, he noticed that Lucifer was looking... A little rough.

"Did you just limp?"
