Anger. He could feel it but somehow it was as if he was under water. His body moved with seamless precision and training. Fou's instructions and all those times his master had thrown him to the wolves coming back. He'd fought like this before but only briefly. He was an Exorcist. This is what he did.

He was about to kill if he could. Allen rocketed between bits of debris and searched with his cursed eye for his target.

Lenalee hardly had any qualms about killing Rhode, she didn't have the same convictions Allen did. What she was worried about was what Rhode would do with Allen if she had the chance, this 'game' was just as much about getting back at him as it was about her having fun. That was the reason she was flying alongside him searching for Rhode and her victims, more than anything she wanted to make sure he didn't get hurt. It wasn't going to be like last time they thought her, it wasn't.

Rhode was waiting where she first broadcasted. She'd move in a bit, but she must give the hunters something to start with. Licking a lollipop the Noah reclined in Anko's lap, Negi's corpse encased in one of her barriers for easy moving. Nearby Lero fidgeted, chattering on both about this being a bad idea, and about how she shouldn't act without the Earl's permission.

As usual she ignored the umbrella, waiting for the first to arrive.

Lavi was riding alongside them in his hammer, if a little behind. If two of them were going, it might as well be all three of them. And this was still his job, however secondary. He just needed to be a lot more careful not to get himself killed. But he survived her last angry rampage at the Ark, didn't he? He would be fine. He hoped.

For now, he focused on locating either her or one of her victims. At least his eyesight was good.

Not long after Rhode's post, after Allen arrives arrayed_back August 10 2010, 18:10:36 UTC
Seeing the post with Negi dead and Anko humiliated gave Riza reason to draw her weapon. She and Dakota had been on her way to the market when the post came up and Riza immediately unhooked the leash from the dog's collar. "Go home, Dakota." Hearing her seriousness, the puppy whined shortly, but galloped away as Riza tucked the leash into her belt.

She had recognized the location where Rhode was, which made it easier for her as she wandered the streets, quickly coming up on the girl and her horrific play scene. Another person was already there and Riza would provide backup if need be. Riza ducked behind a wall and kept her gun steady in her hands, not wanting to fire on anyone unless she had to.

"Step away from them, Rhode."

Rhode glances over her shoulder, expression at first blank, then slowly spreading to a smile as she sees Riza. A new playmate~ She lifts one hand in a cheerful wave, spiked candles appearing in the air next to the little girl.

"You came~ ♥ But you didn't listen very well."

She ignores what Rhode says and speaks again. "Stand down or I will fire on you." True, she's heard that Rhode isn't exactly normal, but sometimes will of persuasion could be a miraculous thing.

And while she is worried, Riza remembers that she faced Alucard and lived. Not a very comforting thought, but she knows she is stronger than some.

Rhode takes a casual step towards Riza, unconcerned with the gun trained right for her.

"Will you? You don't look like a murderer~" Of course she means that ironically. She doesn't look like a murderer either, and yet, there's at least one body here to argue otherwise.

As soon as Vincent saw the post with Negi ff_red_turk August 10 2010, 18:26:04 UTC
Vincent had rarely felt that angry. He could remember the last time he'd been that angry. That was when he'd confronted Hojo about Lucrezia. Right before he'd gotten killed.

Somewhere, his mind knew that it was useless, that he couldn't udno what had been done. But the beasts inside of him were screaming for blood.

And so he hunted. Prowling the roofs, gun and materia at the ready.

Rhode's moved on a bit, after her confrontations with Allen, Lenalee and Riza, she's taken Negi's body in one of her clear barriers to a new location. Waitin again for more hunters as she sits on Lero, swinging her legs and chewing bubblegum.

Waiting is so dull.

There was no warning sign, no battle scream, no sound of feet scuffling.

Vincent saw her, armed his Fire Materia, pointed Cerberus and shot, without even slowing down.

Her side exploded from the shot, no other word for the way flesh and bone were torn from her. She looks a little surprised, but she doesn't fall with the impact, just stares down at herself as her flesh begins to regrow.

And then she starts to laugh.

"Come out~ come out~"

Locating Mitarashi-sensei had been the easy part. With the Byakugan, it was, after child's play.

But approaching had to be done as stealthily as possible, and it was rather difficult when your balance was offset by a new pair of huge butterfly type wings. Still, Hinata cloaked her chakra as much as possible and approached from behind.

She focused the chakra in her palms. She couldn't seem to locate precise energy points, but she knew where to hit for it to hurt ... If Rhode could indeed be hurt.

She took a deep breath, and then launched her first attack.

"Haaaaa !"

Rhode had either not seen the attack coming or couldn't dodge it. Or maybe she chose not to. It didn't matter either way, as the attack connected with her solidly, Hinata's chakra-enhanced blows striking her fragile flesh with alarming force.

She looked shocked as her body crumpled beneath the sudden onslaught, bones snapping and flesh giving way to the ninja's strikes.

The alarm turned to amusement as mere moments later she giggled, beginning to pick herself up with a sickening sound of dragging bone and misaligned spine, to regard Hinata with amusement.

"Is that all~? Then it's my turn. ♥" Snapping her fingers, the girl faced her attacker, grinning evilly as striped, sharp candles surrounded the other girl--there was no doubt the candles were deadly weapons from the look of them, and Rhode didn't hesitate in sending them flying for Hinata--meant to harm, but not kill. Not yet.

Hinata's eyes widened as Rhode pretty much just ... got back up. She might not have had much physical strength, but her taijutsu had improved a lot, and she knew she could deal quite a lot of damage if needed. She hadn't spared her efforts, either.

The candles surrounded her. If only ... if only she'd been better, if only she mastered that chakra defense Neji could do, if only she hadn't disappointed her father with her lack of skills ...

Dodging wouldn't so easily done, even with the aid of the byakugan, and Hinata cried out in pain as some of the candles went through the wings. Up until now, she hadn't realized that they were really a part of her, but the pain, the burning pain wracked through her body as the wings tore in several places.

She fell to her knees and bit her lips to keep from crying out. She wouldn't give up. Not now. Not anymore.

She slowly got back up on shaking legs, trying to ignore the pain in muscles humans weren't supposed to have.

Hero time! not_a_damn_dog August 10 2010, 21:06:46 UTC
As Akira neared he scene, several scents assailed his sense. Blood, fear, Rhode, several other people he knew. One scent he was more than familiar with. Hinata. Hinata was here, where Rhode was.

"SHIT!" he yelled to himself as he picked up speed, "Goddamn it, Hinata! What the hell could she be thinkin', I told her to stay safe! Why doesn't anyone ever listen when I tell them somethin'?!"

Akira's body was a blur as he dashed through the streets, the full moon empowering him. At least this had happened on a good day. The apex of the full moon, and his body was supercharged. He arrived on scene and assessed things. It was chaos...Then there was Hinata. Her beautiful wings had been shredded by those...things Rhode was using.

"Hinata!" he yelled, "Rhode! Stop it, goddamn it!"

Akira moved between them, trying to calm them both down.

Sometime in the middle of the night. books_n_battle August 10 2010, 19:57:38 UTC
Jr.'s mindscape was split into two portions, connected by a bridge. The one Rhode would arrive in was the darker half, the sky obscured by clouds that still rumbled with thunder, though there was no rain. The entire area smelled like metal and ozone, like the aftermath of a battle in a thunderstorm. The ground was made of cracked and crumbling marble and rusted metal, twisted together seemingly randomly though a careful eye might notice that the combination was almost artistic. Blood was everywhere, collected into shallow pools on the ground, some standing alone, others near the lifeless bodies of identical dark-skinned girls ( ... )

Rhode stepped through the blasted mental landscape with some interest. Most people didn't have the sort of presence in their own minds to have this distinct a sense of their own, as it were, scenery. But instead of manifesting scenery to suit herself, this mind was already shaped.

How interesting.

She could still, she found, manipulate it to some extent. She summoned a "lollipop" to suck on while she walked over the broken ground, mildly interested, keeping an eye out for the owner of this mind.

Aside from the glassy-eyed, almost doll-like bodies, she would see no sign of anything living until she reached the end of the mirror path. Coming across the bridge was an older version of Jr., twin Makarov handguns already out, and a young Albedo in his Institute uniform. Jr. leveled one of his guns at Rhode's head and glared. "What the hell d'you think you're doing in our head?"

Albedo glared as well, one hand curling slightly. "Rubedo's the only one allowed in my mind."

Unconcerned by the firearms pointed at her, Rhode continued with her imaginary lollipop, giving both men a thoughtful look. Split personalities, or two people inside the same mind? Neither was an unfamiliar concept to her.

"I thought I'd play around. ♥ You just happened to be here."
