Not long after Rhode's post, after Allen arrives arrayed_back August 10 2010, 18:10:36 UTC
Seeing the post with Negi dead and Anko humiliated gave Riza reason to draw her weapon. She and Dakota had been on her way to the market when the post came up and Riza immediately unhooked the leash from the dog's collar. "Go home, Dakota." Hearing her seriousness, the puppy whined shortly, but galloped away as Riza tucked the leash into her belt.

She had recognized the location where Rhode was, which made it easier for her as she wandered the streets, quickly coming up on the girl and her horrific play scene. Another person was already there and Riza would provide backup if need be. Riza ducked behind a wall and kept her gun steady in her hands, not wanting to fire on anyone unless she had to.

"Step away from them, Rhode."

Rhode glances over her shoulder, expression at first blank, then slowly spreading to a smile as she sees Riza. A new playmate~ She lifts one hand in a cheerful wave, spiked candles appearing in the air next to the little girl.

"You came~ ♥ But you didn't listen very well."

She ignores what Rhode says and speaks again. "Stand down or I will fire on you." True, she's heard that Rhode isn't exactly normal, but sometimes will of persuasion could be a miraculous thing.

And while she is worried, Riza remembers that she faced Alucard and lived. Not a very comforting thought, but she knows she is stronger than some.

Rhode takes a casual step towards Riza, unconcerned with the gun trained right for her.

"Will you? You don't look like a murderer~" Of course she means that ironically. She doesn't look like a murderer either, and yet, there's at least one body here to argue otherwise.

Riza is a murderer, of course. So as soon as Rhode takes that step, Riza aims for her shoulder and fires.

This wouldn't be the first time she's shot a child, or a woman, whatever Rhode really was.

The bullet goes through. It's very obvious that it hits. Rhode even stumbles a step back, and there's a spray of blood that paints her wings red. The hole in her shoulder is large, and the blood stains her dress.

And already it's starting to heal. The girl's grin, if possible, only gets wider as she takes a slightly lurching step forward, expression bordering on grotesque.

"That's not very~ nice."

Oh, damnit. Of course Rhode can regenerate! Riza adjusts her aim and fires two shots toward Rhode's head. It's like fighting a Homunculus all over again. Still, Riza knows where her extra clips are strapped on her body, as well as her other pistol if things get really desperate. And Dakota's leash can be used as a restraint, surely.

The shots go through Rhode's head, nice and clean, no missing, right on target. And Rhode's face is not so pretty anymore. Not at all. And yet, instead of stopping her, the girl starts to laugh maniacally, insanely and takes another step, this one faster, half running, raising a hand and slashing it downwards.

"You should have run~"

The candles change, sharp ends pointed at Riza, zooming forward to know the gun from the woman's hand.

Riza's eyes widen slightly, free hand already moving to retrieve her other gun from her waist, but then the candles, the weapons, start flying. Riza quickly raises her left hand to protect herself, but when her gun is knocked away, some of the spikes strike her, a diagonal line across her torso and one in her raised forearm.

She gasps and falls against the wall on her side, feeling that the spikes have penetrated deeply. Again, though, she reaches for her other gun.

[ooc: Hopefully I'm imagining this right since I've never seen Rhode in action. ^^ Feel free to correct me if you need to!]

Rhode doesn't stop her from reaching for the gun, walking and regenerating until she's right in front of Riza, grabbing the other woman's wrist in a grip that is way too strong for a little girl, she twists her hand hard, attempting to snap the bone.

"Naughty naughty." She chides cheerfully, her face still a wreck.

[ooc: looks good to me!]

The pain is becoming greater by the second and her quest to find the gun slows and is ultimately forgotten when Rhode grabs her wrist. Riza lets out a short cry of pain before she bites down on her lip to keep the evidence of her weakness at bay. Eventually, however, the bone can't take the pressure of the awkward angle and breaks with a loud SNAP, causing Riza to scream in pain.

Her body realizes it needs to fight back so her other hand finally clenches into a fist and flies out toward Rhode's stomach.

The punch, like all other hits so far, lands squarely. And just like the bullets it doesn't seem to bother her in the least. In fact, she laughs, reaching up to grab Riza's shirt and pull herself up on tiptoe to the woman's level. Her face is half repaired at least, but it's still not back to normal.

"Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb~♪" the girl sings, "Mary had a little lamb, whose fleece was white~♪" She yanks on Riza's shirt, reaching up to grab a candle. "As~♪" Driving the candle hard forward, she aims to pierce Riza's jugular, intent on severing the major artery and drenching them both in blood.

"Snow. ♥"

That bad feeling had never left him, not for a moment - so when Dakota arrived home alone his anxiety was only increased. Tenfold.

He locked the dog in the house, PCD in hand, checking the network which was alive with activity. The co-ordinates were there, and he ran to them.

Unfortunately time was not on his side. Rhode's singing was plenty loud enough for him to hear, and he sincerely thought he was prepared for what he would find.

He wasn't. Too far away to be able to do a thing about it, Roy scrambled over the terrain - just in time to watch as Rhode stabbed Riza in the neck, screaming his refusal to accept the situation with a single, loud and clear 'NO!' that he couldn't hold back on, instantly on his knees, stomach intent on bringing breakfast into the equation, hand outstretched despite himself.

The candles in Riza's body don't budge, not that she's expecting them to, but the pain grows almost unbearable, not to mention her wrist throbs and aches with the abuse it's just received.

Riza is losing, badly. Her good hand is already losing strength as she gasps around the candles piercing her chest. She's afraid one has punctured her lung and that realization makes her gasp more, trying to gain as much breath as possible. Rhode's singing only makes things that more surreal and yet real at the same time and before Riza can do or think anything, there's a sharp pain in her neck.

For a second she is reminded of Alucard's fangs piercing her skin, but this is worse. So much worse. She feels a warm liquid coating her neck, flowing down, down, down... It's so warm and she's suddenly so tired...yes, sleep is good.

And her head falls against her chest, though she hears a familiar voice as if in the distance. Roy. You're so far away. Riza's fingers twitch slightly. Amidst her foggy mind, she wants to reach out to him, but ( ... )

Rhode let go of Riza at the sound of Roy's scream. She was covered in blood, her own and the other's woman's, and in general, though she was now fully healed, she looked a terrible mess. She ignored the dying woman behind her o give Roy a small, amused smile.

"You're a little~ late to play hero." She sing-songed cheerfully, raising her fingers--coated in Riza's blood--to her lips and lapping at the blood there. She didn't seem to mind the taste as she licked off the dark liquid, expression nothing but sadistic glee.

"She was very brave, but she didn't listen well."

No.

The moment Riza's body dropped he was on his feet again, legs shaking - whether in fear or anger even he didn't know. Rhode was still stood close to Riza, and on her second taunt gloved hands sprang into action, crossing his chest before moving outwards, both hands clicking as he activated the arrays, fire leaving them and consuming Rhode, words leaving him as if they weren't even his own "Bitch."

He didn't know if it would work, knew what he was feeling was blind rage, but he had to get her to move, if only to let him closer to Riza.
