Tamaki smoothed down the folds of his dress, and pulled out a small handmirror from an inside pocket, looking critically at himself ( ... )

Hitsugaya wasn't the type to show up to parties or balls or anything of the like. Today was no different. He was only walking past on his way to a supply run. He wasn't urgently in need of anything, but it was always best to search ahead of time to avoid emergencies. Thus it was that he passed dangerously close with no costume and no mask, trying to stay out of the way and out of sight until he was home free.

There was a glimmer of blueish whiteness outside the circle of light, and Tamaki swept down on the boy in a flash of rose pink, linking his arm under Hitsugaya's and beginning to pull him towards the refreshment table.

"My prince!" he exclaimed, "I am delighted to see you! We will be a sensation! The most beautiful sight of the ball, we're like cherry petals on ice!"

For a moment, Hitsugaya had absolutely no idea what had hit him. Long hair, pink dress, clown make-up, and a vice grip. Then came the far too familiar voice with its far too familiar exclamations, and he promptly choked on his own spit. "What are you-!? We are not! What the hell are you doing?! Let go!" If he hadn't been quite so surprised by Suoh's apparent crossdressing stint, he might have noted that despite the familiarity of the situation (i.e. being manhandled against his will), at the very least his head wasn't in between anyone's breasts.

Spiked Punch Anyone? precursor_dax July 29 2009, 10:35:08 UTC
He'd come, he'd mingled...and now it was time to conquer the punch bowl. In his crocadog costume, Daxter ambled over to the table and hopped onto it. He felt entitled to some mischief now and again, and therefore felt no remorse for what he was about to do.

A couple minutes later saw the masquerading Ottsel sauntering away from the table, a glass of unspiked punch in his hands. He moved off to sit on a rock at the water's edge as though things were perfectly normal.

Because Luke would not think Daxter spiked the punch...any excuse to get him drunk again? replica_flame July 29 2009, 21:12:30 UTC
Luke, not realizing that Daxter had indeed spiked the punch, grabbed a cup himself and poured himself a glass of the liquid. If he had known that it was indeed spiked, he wouldn't have gotten it, since he learned at New Years that he cannot hold his alcohol. At least it was toward the end of the party at this point.

He spotted Daxter sitting on a rock near the water and he walked toward him and sat down next to him.

"Having fun Dax?" he asked as he took a sip of his drink.

Daxter barely stifled a giggle that Luke was getting punch. "You bet," he said cheerfully. Currently he was eating from a plate he'd fixed, food actually having to go into the open crocadog maw to reach his mouth. "What about you, Red?"

"Actually, I am having fun. I'm having more fun that I had at the last party we had here."

He took another sip from his drink, feeling a bit looser every time he took a sip. The punch tasted strange...but perhaps it was just a strange flavor of it? It's not like he had much experience with spiked beverages.

Hallelujah kept his word, and in the end, Lockon really didn't have any other choice, but to attend the dreadful ball. Thanks god the idea of dressing-up was abandoned, as long as he went on his will. He didn't expected much of said ball in first place. Obviously, to take what's best of such events, there's one important condition - one needs to be in a mood for it.

And Lockon was everything but in a mood to socialize.

Of course, Hallelujah kept his word about dressing Lockon prettily without going overboard. Both of them were wearing rather fancy clothing. The only thing bothering Hallelujah right now was Lockon's mood.

"Relax, or I'll get you drunk." sending his partner a grin, he looked around for any familiar faces. Get there, socialize a bit, knock some sense into depressed sniper...well, it was the main plan.

"Was it a threat or a promise?" Lockon countered, with his eyebrow traveling upward. Oh wow, a slight sense of humour was still there. Great, maybe the party isn't so much of lost case, he was afraid it will be.

Hallelujah sent him an amused glance. Well, so far so good.

"Which one would you prefer, hmm?" it was a clear challenge, hinted in his tone. Hallelujah made it even more evident by grabbing two drinks from the bar and handing one to Lockon, with big grin.

Somewhere around the refreshments, looking lost golden_hawke July 29 2009, 11:32:14 UTC
A masquerade was not something he knew well. Hell, he didn't know it at all. But he did his best with what he had, finding himself hoping that it was acceptable.

Hawke's attire wasn't something completely different with what he normally wore, just something more extravegant. His skin was lightly oiled, and tied around his biceps and wrists were fringes of leather. A similar adornment were around his ankles, but shorter so that he wouldn't trip. He wore a cloth, but it was patterned with swirls and markings that were important from his home, and instead of his usual pony tail, his hair was free flowing, showing just a bit of curl. In his hair were some what could have been precious stones and a feather or two. For anyone who had visited his dreams, he almost had the same look.

But now he was here, not knowing where he should be, or what to do, and was trying to casually find someone he knew.

"Hawke!" Tamaki exclaimed, moving over to the man with what speed he could muster in his high heels. "You look wonderful! I particularly like the feathers, they go so well with your hair!"

He beamed at him, wondering absently if Hawke would recognise him. He wasn't wearing a mask, but the make-up and the wig did change his appearance quite a bit.

Hawke didn't recognize him. Most of that reason was because he'd never met Tamaki in person, and therefore didn't know the beat of his heart. But that wasn't something he commonly told others, either. At the very least, he knew that they had met previously, and therefore smiled warmly. "I thank you. And you look wonderful as well! This is your costume, yes? And we have met on the machines, have we not?"

"We have indeed met on the machines," he laughed, pleased. "You don't recognise me, then? I am glad, I have tried to create a good costume."

His gaze travelled over the man's body, and he couldn't help wondering if maybe, just maybe, this physique was superior to his own. Shocking thought.

"You are very recognisable, somehow, lovely Hawke."

Soon-to-be-drunk German, coming up :P blau_rakete July 29 2009, 11:56:38 UTC
Alfons took his time walking over to the punch, stopping to look at a few things, adjusting his mask so he could see a little better once it slipped a little to cover his eyes. For once, Alfons' normally scruffy hair had been flattened down and smoothed out. And in place of his usual clothing he wore a tuxedo, complete with tails and a black bow tie.

Once he'd made it over to the punch, he realized just how thirsty he was, and he ended up having a second, and then a third glass after his first.

Tamaki lifted up his skirt and sailed over to Alfons, joining him by the refreshment table.

"Drinking rather than dancing?" he asked, opening his fan with a snap and peering at the boy over its edge. "We must do something about that..."

Alfons turned around at the voice, quirking a brow behind his mask. That voice sounded... familiar, but he couldn't quite place it. He didn't think he knew any blonde girls here...

"Ah, I..." he started, a little flustered. He drank the rest of his punch in one go before setting the glass down on the table, fiddling with his sleeve for a moment before hesitantly holding his hand out for the girl. "Vould you have a dance vith me then, Fraulein?"

Plenty more where that came from! tono_twerp July 30 2009, 08:47:36 UTC
He took the offered hand, knees dipping for a moment in a gracious recognition of the offer.

"Why certainly, my good sir!" he exclaimed, "I am honoured!" Not that dancing in heels was something he was particularly good at, but damn, he could waltz with the best.
