A masquerade was not something he knew well. Hell, he didn't know it at all. But he did his best with what he had, finding himself hoping that it was acceptable.

Hawke's attire wasn't something completely different with what he normally wore, just something more extravegant. His skin was lightly oiled, and tied around his biceps and wrists were fringes of leather. A similar adornment were around his ankles, but shorter so that he wouldn't trip. He wore a cloth, but it was patterned with swirls and markings that were important from his home, and instead of his usual pony tail, his hair was free flowing, showing just a bit of curl. In his hair were some what could have been precious stones and a feather or two. For anyone who had visited his dreams, he almost had the same look.

But now he was here, not knowing where he should be, or what to do, and was trying to casually find someone he knew.

"Hawke!" Tamaki exclaimed, moving over to the man with what speed he could muster in his high heels. "You look wonderful! I particularly like the feathers, they go so well with your hair!"

He beamed at him, wondering absently if Hawke would recognise him. He wasn't wearing a mask, but the make-up and the wig did change his appearance quite a bit.

Hawke didn't recognize him. Most of that reason was because he'd never met Tamaki in person, and therefore didn't know the beat of his heart. But that wasn't something he commonly told others, either. At the very least, he knew that they had met previously, and therefore smiled warmly. "I thank you. And you look wonderful as well! This is your costume, yes? And we have met on the machines, have we not?"

"We have indeed met on the machines," he laughed, pleased. "You don't recognise me, then? I am glad, I have tried to create a good costume."

His gaze travelled over the man's body, and he couldn't help wondering if maybe, just maybe, this physique was superior to his own. Shocking thought.

"You are very recognisable, somehow, lovely Hawke."

"Of course I am. I believe I am the only male here who does not wear pants every day," Hawke smirked at his own joke, offering a bow. As his hair moved, light caught the crystals in his hair, making them twinkle like stars. "Will you have me keep guess who you are, or shall I begin asking around?"

He responded to the bow with a curtsey, smiling at Hawke over the edge of his fan.

"Why, I suppose I must confess to being Suoh Tamaki, then, so you won't have to waste the evening on wondering. Should we dance?"

"I do not know any of the dances here," Hawke responded, not once thinking it was out of place for a male dressed as a woman to offer a dance to another male. But he did look a little sheepish that he had no idea what the dance steps were here, while he knew plenty of dances back in the Mountain.

"Oh!" he exclaimed, taking one of Hawke's arms. "Then won't you please allow me to lead? It's a little unseemly for the woman to lead the man, but we'll just have to work around it. I'll teach you the basic steps!"

"You would know the dance steps." He didn't understand why it would be wrong for a female to lead, but he let Tamaki take his arm and lead him to wherever they were supposed to be.

"I know them all, yes!" he exclaimed, with a smile. When they were out on the dance floor, he turned, facing Hawke and taking one hand in his. "Let's see, the first thing you do is to rest your other hand on my shoulder. And then when we begin, you take your first step with your left foot, a long step backwards. And then a short step with your right, followed by a short step by your left. Should we try that?"

He pushed, very gently, hoping that Hawke would have picked up the instructions.

Hawke was graceful as a panther was when stalking prey. In his own home, he was decent with the dance steps he learned from his people, but here, he was just a little bit of a clutz before he fumbled his way into a pattern.

He smiled in relieved surprise at the ease with which Hawke followed his directions, and it wasn't long before he allowed himself to abandon himself to the rhythm and pleasure of the dance. True, dancing in heels was uncomfortable, but once he got used to setting his heel down before his toe, it got easier.

"What a good dancer you are," he exclaimed, meaning it. He hadn't had this good a dance partner in quite a while.

"I thank you," Hawke rumbled with the hint of a purr as he watched Tamaki. "But I do not believe I would be so good if I did not have a good teacher."

He winked at him, enjoying the man's sensuality and seemingly perfect control of his body.

"We all do what we can," he agreed, lightly.

Hawke was probably taller, and even though it was as if his hair had been done up in what would be considered a feminine style, there was no mistaking his musclulature as feminine. "Is this what you do? Teach others to dance?"

"If required," he agreed, happily, absently wishing that Hawke could be taught to lead, so he might lose himself in the man's grasp. "I am a host. My job is to entertain people and make them happy. It's a really good one! What is your job?"
