Nyu ( April 16, After Ginia Leaves to Meet Kaname ) lilium_nyu April 17 2008, 04:07:17 UTC
After being tucked in bed, Nyu tossed and turned. She couldn't sleep, she was so worried about Matt. Sitting up in bed, she touched her PDA.

"Matt..." she whispered, pressing one of the buttons so the light would come on. Thats it. She decided she was going to go out and look for him. She stood and looked around. No one was around. Nyu dressed and made her way out of the sewers.

At the opening, she looked around. The streets were pitch black and deserted. Frightened, Nyu shuddered and inched back into the sewer opening. "Nyu..." she pouted. In the distance, she heard some screaming, a male scream. Instantly thinking it was Matt, she ran off toward the screams.

The body hit the ground with an audible crunch, the cracking of bones as it collapsed into a heap that did not resemble the human it once had been. The skin had been only partially removed, letting one half lay beside it like laundry unfolded. Pyramid Head reached over to yank his sword from the side of a building where he had placed it, letting the top half fall to the ground with a clank as the young girl approached.

That large helmet twitched as he turned his body towards her, the blood still fresh on his hands as the smell of copper choked the air. He took a step.

Nyu shuddered as she heard the bones crumble. "Nyuu..." she whimpered, trying to hide behind a dumpster.

Unfortunately, the beast had already spotted her and was making its way toward her. Panic stricken, Nyu ran down the alley, trying to escape. Darkness surrounded her and screams echoed in the city. The entire city seemed to be a mass of death and brutality.

"Nyuuu..." she cried out as the creature came toward her. The sword still dragging against the ground.

The alley was probably the worst place she could run, for it had an end against another building. Pyramid Head's pace was on the slow side, but steady, the steps and sound of scraping metal growing louder as he approached. Like a shadow against even the darkness of the night he seemed as he turned the corner into the alley. The fresh blood glistened on his hands from the little light there was in this place at night, but it was as if the world around him took a different look and feel, even when it really didn't.

He made no noise as he approached. Children, adults - they were all the same. More to be punished, and to suffer as the world suffered. As She suffered.

As he drew near, the large being raised his sword, swinging it in an arch surprisingly fast despite his initial speed.

Ichigo and Kaname (April 16th, midnight) notastr4wberry April 17 2008, 05:14:14 UTC
With Zangetsu strapped to his back, Ichigo headed off to Kaname's place. He wished that she would stay at the clinic, but she was being stubborn about it. Apparently some giant, skin wearing monsters roaming around the place wasn't changing her mind, either.

"Heh, probably makes her that much more determined to stay where she is," he muttered out loud.

Despite all the yelling and the arguments though, Ichigo really did worry about Kaname. She could be stupidly stubborn at times and it would probably get her hurt some day. People were just stupidly blind to things like that sometimes.

"Oi, Kaname!" he called out as he arrived at her place. His voice was half shouting and half whispering as he didn't want to wake anyone up. "It's almost midnight, are you ready?"

The front door of her place swung open only moments after Ichigo began shouting. "Yeah, yeah, I'm ready!" She sounded annoyed and interrupted, but all she had been doing was waiting. She wasn't sure if she really wanted Ichigo to come with her, but part of her really did. She wasn't sure why, but she did. Kaname would never admit that to him, now.

Shutting the door closely shut behind her, she sighed as she stepped out onto the broken sidewalk. "Just don't say I didn't warn you about this guy."

"Well, so long as you warned me about everything I won't have to," he grunted. Ichigo didn't think she'd left anything out, but he couldn't just let a comment like that go.

As far as she had told him all Metal-Triangle-Bucket Head (he really needed to think of a better name for the thing) had going for him was strength and a really big sword. Well, Ichigo had that and then some.

Extra strength couldn't help you if you could never hit your target and it sounded like this thing was pretty slow. Whatever freaky thing was killing people in those ways was going down tonight.

And Rukia! Jerks. Don't forget her. third_winter April 17 2008, 13:37:45 UTC
Rukia flash-stepped to within feet of Kaname's place, with coordinates taken from the network. (Really, this network thing was quite handy.) No surprise that Ichigo was already here; his reiatsu shouted out his location to anyone with the ability to 'listen.' Not good for stealth, but if this thing they were hunting was attracted to power, it might work in their favor.

"Forgetting something, Ichigo?" she asked, walking over to the pair. She'd have to hurt him just a little if he'd been purposely trying to ditch her. The idiot didn't need to protect her; didn't he know it was her job to protect him?

Sion and Tieria (April 16th, midnight) atlasian_child April 17 2008, 05:30:42 UTC
Sion sat inside the abandoned office building she had first spoken with Tieria in. It was almost funny how they were returning there, but it was fitting; they were safe inside the building and had a good view of the city from their level and could go higher if they wished.

Despite the numerous warnings given, Sion felt very at ease. She had no intentions of trying to fight the creature; she knew far too little about it and what she did know, confirmed she would be unable to fight against it properly. Others could try to be heroes and stop it. The stoic alchemist was very content with observations.

At the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs and toward the room, she turned and gave the faintest of smiles and nodded her head in acknowledgment.

"Tieria. Good evening."

Tieria walked uneasy the steps up in the builidng in which he first has met Sion. He know he wanted to fight it... he wanted to protect Lockon. And if he could destroy it one way or the other, he would gladly take that path.

But first he had to make sure that nothing would happen to Sion. He got her involved in this, so if he fought it, he should see if he can protect her somehow. He felt a bit bad about lying to her. Closely and firmly, he hold onto his gun.

As Sion spotted and greeted him, Tieria also greeted her with a slight nod.

"Good evening, Sion. It's nice to meet you again. Even if the circumstances are a bit strange..."

While Sion had no intentions of fighting it, it wasn't as if she was defenseless either. The gold bracelet around her wrist containing Etherlight was there as usual and she could materialize her handgun Black Barrel Replica if needed.

"We should first attempt to establish its location. I surveyed the other floors before you arrived and it seems they are stable enough for us to go on, though I would not go beyond the sixth floor. Once we have pinpointed its location, we can move closer to better observe it."

As usual, Sion dove right into business once the bare amount of pleasantries were finished with.

Tieria smirked slightly. As he would have expected, Sion always did her things reliable and checked through the situation.

"To the sixth floor? Well, shall we go then?"

Tieria went first, since he already stood by the stair.

Sixth floor, eh? However, if we find it, I'll find a way to jump onto it and fight. I just wish I could have my mobile suit here.

No, he shouldn't get lost in thoughts like that. He must concentrate at this matter now. As they reached the sixth floor, Tieria turned to Sion.

"Where do you think it will appear?"

Lockon and Murrue (April 16th, around midnight) meteo_sniper April 17 2008, 17:42:36 UTC
Lockon was on the run for some time and was starting to feel tired. He slowed down, listening to his own footsteps echoing around the walls, nothing else could be heard. The silence was almost unnatural.

He checked his PCD - no replies from Tieria, only from his concerned comrades. The device offered some limited options of tracking down the other users, but Tieria indeed started to take care about network safety. And his first move was to ensure his location couldn't be tracked.

Lockon cursed, quite creatively.

Tieria was refusing to give him the coordinates, but he went in search of that thing, so tracking the monster itself is the way to find him.
And easy way to get killed.

He hoped they won't have to fight with it. Fighting it - in general - was a good idea, but required more people, more equipment and good strategy. But now, the best would be if he found Tieria before the boy do something incredibly stupid.

He looked around, scanning his surroundings, and noticed a long row of low, terraced houses.

'Just beautiful' - ( ... )

Murrue ran as fast as she could to the place Lockon as shown her via the coordinates.

Just fine... as soon as I appeared here, I already get again involved into fighting. But it's not that I don't want to something about that thing...

Murrue sighed. The poor man seemed really worried about his two friends... she was lucky that her weaponary was transported with her...

As she reached the point, she took a deep breath, stroking some of her brown hair behind her ears, as she saw a man with brown, curly hair.

"Lockon... san?"

"Miss Murrue, I presume?" Lockon smiled at her, sitting on the verge of low, one floor house. There was a whole row of them running alongside the street.
He crouched and offered her a hand, encouraging to join him on the roof.

"It's better to travel on the level higher than ground. We may notice people I'm searching for, easier this way."

Or notice that thing, that's it.

Murrue smiled slightly at the man. He seemed to be a very friendly guy.

"You're right. It's nice to meet you for real, Lockon-san."

She took the offered hand and climbed up to the roof. She listened to his words, nodding slightly in agreement, while watching the ground. Then something came up in her mind.

"Lockon-san? May I ask how your friends look like? It would be easier for me to recognize them if you could describe them..."

Lockon's friends were the most important matter right now. She would see if they could gain a tactical advantage from this place later.

Miharu (April 17, very early morning hours.) absolutewisdom April 17 2008, 20:20:12 UTC
It was obvious that there was something strange going on. He'd heard people talking, of course (and that was saying something; it was rare that he paid much attention to what anyone said, but this, for some reason, was something that he figured would be a good idea to listen to), and then there were the screams. It wasn't just people that were afraid, it was people being killed. He knew that sound, and it wasn't pleasant. If there was anyone that managed to sleep through it, he didn't know how.

But why he was out at night, even when he knew the risks, even Miharu didn't entirely know. It was dangerous, but, at the same time, he wanted to find out just what was causing all this. (In a way, he wanted to meet them, as bad as the situation could get. That much was a definite.) Just then, he heard it again; another victim. He took off in the direction of the noise.

The body still twitched, even as it slid down the length of his large sword. Blood spilled out of their mouth as they choked on their own fluids and vomit, but Pyramid Head did little other than shake the form further down the blade until the felt the soft stomach of his victim fall against his hands. Reaching out, he grabbed onto the skin, twisting it in his hands as the person screamed and ripped a chunk free, letting the organs loose and spill.

He turned the blade upside down, the body sliding off and falling haphazardly into a heap on the pavement.

His footsteps slowed to a stop, as he reached the creature who had caused this. And there was no doubt about that, it was definitely the one. Though whatever it was looked human, there was very little chance it was. Something that was human couldn't do something like this. (Even those without compassion, he'd found, weren't even that likely to do such things, even though it would almost come close.) Miharu showed little surprise; he allowed very little to read in his expression, but it wasn't as though he wasn't afraid. (Far from it.) Maybe it was a bad idea, coming here, but he couldn't just leave. Not after what he saw. There had to be something he could do.

The edge of the large sword hit the ground with an audible clank, just as Pyramid Head turned his helmet-covered head in Miharu's direction. The air about him smelled rank, as this was clearly not the first victim of the night. The body's nerves still made it twitch though it was dead, and he stepped over it as if it were nothing.

There was a twitch to his step, each causing the sword to drag a bit on the ground, the source of the characteristic metal screech. But his steps were sure and strong, and he made his advance.
