She found herself either walking around outside, or inside her room at the clinic, writing notes to her older self and exploring the PCD's network. Now that she could control her life again, she wanted to see the world as much as she possibly could, even if she was inside for half of it.
Then again, she already had lived for too long...
Spotting Mello, the child blinked in surprise. Mello...she still remembered him. The older Asuna hated him, but this Asuna found him quite interesting...but he was younger now--he didn't know about this place like she did.
Mello was walking carefully, not rushing his pace. He'd heard that this world was dangerous, but that was something he could have easily figured out by himself. One just had to take a look at the terrible state the city was in, as if it'd been recently hit by an earthquake or something equally destructive.
Spotting the girl as well, Mello stopped short. She looked like a completely innocent and harmless kid, but Mello knew better than to trust looks in such an odd 'world' (at the lack of a better word to define this place).
"Hey," he greeted her, hands resting inside his pockets and cheeks pink from the cold.
And he was good in not trusting looks alone--this seemingly harmless girl was, after all, one of the most powerful in her world, even if on the inside, she didn't exactly feel powerful. Not weak, though, just...empty.
Asuna stared up at him, her face unchanging, much like a doll. "...you're Mello. I remember you."
"Well, I don't," he stated dryly, waiting for her to introduce herself. Mello couldn't help but be unnerved at the lack of expression in this girl. She was like a female Near, geez. It was also unnerving that she could remember her future self while he couldn't.
The young Anemone was also out in the snow, in a VERY oversized coat and scarf. Trying to keep warm, she had tried to wear her older self's winter clothes. On top of that, she had an IV to carry around. The wheels didn't really want to work with the snowy ground, but despite the fact that the bag carried vital liquids through a tube to her neck, she wanted to go outside anyway.
The sight of a strange pink haired girl with a tube connected to her neck was alarming. She looked like taken from a horror movie, what the hell was this?
Mello looked at her with morbid curiosity, keeping a safe distance with her. Who knew if this girl might suddenly decide to stab him-- this happened a lot in movies. The fact that she was walking out in the snow with her IV already suggested that she wasn't completely right in her mind.
"Why are you here?"
((ooc: Is Asuna still with him or is this happening at a different moment? Perhaps the latter is easier, but I wanted to make sure~))
[ooc: Yeah, this since is a seperate thread it's easier to assume this is happening at different moment. I would have joined the other thread otherwise, methinks. :O]
Anemone looked up in the direction of the new voice. "... ... ...I'm playing."
The young boy slowly set a foot on the snow, approaching the commotion with tentative care, a smile on his face before he noticed the blond talking with everyone else, stealing all the attention.
"You!" L screeched, an accusing finger pointed at Mello.
((ooc: I'm so sorry for lagging behind. God, so busy.))
Mello turned, not really displaying much happiness to find the kid version of his mentor. L, the man, seemed to respect Mello. But this kid? He was like a pain in the ass and seemed to think that Mello was the embodiment of Satan.
"You should go back inside. It's too cold for a kid like yourself," he pointed out with mild annoyance, making himself comfortable on the fact that he was much older, therefore superior.
((ooc: Who's Mello talking to in this thread? Asuna or Anemone?))
Untouched by the effect of Mello's sharp words, L merely hobbled forward to stand at the blond's side; gazing at city's debris, fallen buildings and patches of dirty snow here and there.
"No." That was the only word L felt like speaking, it was not as if he trusted this boy, but perhaps the facts were wrong, perhaps he ought to see the other side too.
Perhaps Mello wasn't a criminal yet, but there was still the same blood running through his veins-- the same cold blood that won't hesitate to play with human lives to fulfill his own purposes.
Mello didn't know why his older self had killed those people, but he was certain that there must have been a good reason for their deaths. He knew that if the situation required it, he'd go to unthinkable extremes to obtain what he so desired.
"Aren't you scared? I could stab you at any moment," he said sarcastically, mocking kid L's paranoia about his evil nature.
((ooc: Then let's better imagine that he isn't talking to either of them, since I don't know how those conversations will end. For all I know, Mello could get stabbed in the eye at any moment, haha ;;))
