First, I'm taking two classes this semester, one math and one psychology test so that should be fun. But again I have to complain about the pricing, FIVE hundred dollars for TWO classes and the books are One hundred sixty bucks together. Sheesh, talk about 'the cost of education'. I have difficulty with you rating the Master below Angel, because if Angel was more powerful than the Master he wouldn't have been so scared about facing him. I hate to admit it, but in most ways you're right about how low Xander ranks. On the other hand I have to say that his contributions are often low key, but have a much greater effect than is immediately apparent - dragging Angel down to bring Buffy back, getting the rocket launcher to deal with the Judge, warning Angelus off when Buffy was ill, the Lie, I'm sure any Xander fan can come up with lots more.

I put Angel over the master based on where they are now. Obvisouly the Master is dead and Angel maybe but Angel got stronger and improved, even became a Champion. He also defeated Hamilton, Skip and others along the way while The Master has ONE serious run in with Buffy and dies. So TM goes lower than Mr. Broody.

Xander's ranking isn't meant as an insult, I'm just trying to be accurate of where he is in the BtVS verse. He's even more 'normal' than 'normal' guys like Gunn and Wes both of whom are either far trained, experienced or in Wes's cases just determined. Xander lived a normal life for the most part during the series, involved in a happy relationship with Anya. That's why he's weak in tiering lists like these but as a character he's quite strong.

If you are truly ranking people based on their "most powerful form", then Anya as a Vengeance demon would have to rank up there with Willow ( ... )
