Wheeee...

Charlie is driving me nuts. He keeps not sitting on my lap. Then will sit on the couch arm and look disgusted. Then stand on my lap and not sit. He is being an asshole. Which, you know, thai cat. ;)

I have been watching the Olympics. A lot of it I've been watching in fast forward. :) It's a great way to watch volleyball. Drives me nuts that ( Read more... )

I've watched hardly any Olympics, the timing isn't good for Europeans!

That's too bad. Although I've been DVRing most of it to watch later.

I have the same grievance re: Olympics. My favourite is athletics, especially pole jumping, and I've managed to see exactly three (!) jumps, two of which were unsuccessful. I'm a techno-wheenie, I can only watch what the official TV channels show me, and those things are usually deadly boring. I could get up at 3 in the night, when there are supposedly more interesting things, but I've got chores during the day, and at my advanced age I need regular sleep. At least 6-7 hours of it. Grrrr!

Sorry to hear about the work-related stress. I hope things will improve, soon.

Yes! They show almost all the running, and almost none of the pole vault, discus, javelin, or other field events. And I know our TV tends to focus on events where our people are likely to do well, but we did well in some of those events, too.
Also, I totally hear you on not getting to the more convoluted viewing sites.
Do you guys not have a way to record?

Thanks. One more week.

"Cats are jerks." - truer words, never spoken. :)

The first few weeks before school and of school are so chaotic to so many different people: I wish you the best and smoothest of luck, dear!

GOOD FOR YOU FOR RIDING SO MUCH! I would very much like to see photos of who you are riding, pls. <3

While I am not at your level, I know what you mean about "ride the whole test" -- the discussion and observation when kid was doing dressage helps me get that concept.

lol Yes.

It is a busy time. Thanks.

I try. Photos! lol The problem is that I ride by myself at home, and usually end up going to shows by myself. Will try to get some.

It always helps to watch and discuss others' tests.

I often think horses memorize dressage tests. I don't show much, but I remember doing a test where I had to do a free walk and as soon as I approached the corner where she was supposed to free walk, she started leaning on the bit to lower her head. But I don't think she would do the whole test for me if I pointed her at a letter. :-D

My horse memorizes patterns very quickly - my husband likes to build obstacle courses to walk him thru, and by the third time, Scout will be making the turns on his own, lol!

They totally do. My horse will get cranky sometimes if I don't follow the pattern he thinks I should be following. Anticipation.lol

If one of my cats did that, I'd snatch them up in a full body hug and coo, "Do you need some cat love?" Oh, they hate that!

:D
