Today was interesting.

I got in to the clinic to find that my soft hearted NP had picked up a babyish bird that she found on her lawn that only had one leg. She was going to take it to a lady who worked with wild animals. It died in the afternoon, poor thing ( Read more... )

I hope you can get the mold issue sorted - that is concerning!

One barn I boarded at was run by these real white-trash folks. They were backyard breeders and wouldn't fix any of thier animals, so thier overly aggressive Rottweiler dog got pregnant by a local mutt, and they didn't want the puppies. I walked into the tack room to find a bucket filled with water and four dead puppies floating in it.

First of all, WTF, and second of all, if you are going to do something so horrendous, how about burying the little things, or at least not leaving it out so blatantly so that others become exposed to your fuckwittery?

Relating that story I had to bust out my RARRR! icon. It still boils my blood to recall.

They certainly were that. My cousin and I moved barns pretty soon after witnessing more of thier special kind of animal husbandry. :-(

Wow, you did have a dead bird filled day. Ick! I'm so glad no one has brought me home anything yet, but I have a feeling it's just of time with Bête Noir.

Ick on the mold. Friends aren't always to best choice at times. I'm sorry that happened to you.

Luckily my barn cats eat what they catch for the most part.

Thanks.

I wish I could say that about ours. I keep finding bits of cockroaches everywhere. They catch them outside, then bring them in to 'play' with them.

I think I caught the plague of dead birds. Granted both the ones I saw today were tiny little just hatched ones that fell out of their nest and 30-35 feet to the barn floor. :( Poor little tykes.

I hope the mold issue isn't serious. That's no fun.
