I went to Pigeon Forge with Dad last week. I think my favorite thing there is Parrot Mountain, which we went straight to on Wednesday even before going to our cabin. I petted so many birds. I would have to say that Jurassic Park was my favorite ride in Islands of Adventure, and The Mummy was my favorite ride in Universal Studios. I also really liked the Simpsons ride, The E. I just got back from a week Myrtle Beach. I had lots of fun. I beachwalked every morning but one, and that morning was because I was too sunburned. Our first full day there, I was in the ocean all morning and in the pool all afternoon and then in the ocean some more after that. There are wrens nesting in the bluebird house. Since we have two kinds of wrens around here, I'm not sure which they are. The Carolina wrens have never gone in the bluebird house, but they were squabbling with the House wrens over it a couple days ago. I saw lots of cute bird-related happenings today. I saw bluebirds while walking in the business park. There was a pair who had found the landscapers' truck and were fighting with their reflections. I helped with enrichment today. We gave wadded up balls of newspaper to the owls. Dudley loves those. He grabbed his and carried it over to the back corner of his cage. Then he started hooting. I just got back from camping at Carolina Beach with my dad. Two nights of quiet and nature and lots of hiking. We hiked the carnivorous plant trail the first day, but I saw only one Sarracenia.
