i saw three movies this weekend. one: "the city of lost children", which i HIGHLY recommend. very creative/odd french movie from the creators of "amelie" and "delicatessen". i had to watch it twice to fully understand it. two: "the simpsons: the movie". not great, but i think the secret is to go in not expecting much, then you won't be too

I haven't seen a new picture in the theatre since Borat. I've been trying to catch up on all the older movies that I've always wanted to see and that has been the predominant focus of my attention this summer.

that's what i usually do. it's rare that i'll actually go to a movie in the theater. this week was unusual. "the city of lost children" was a rental that i'd been wanting to see for a long time.
