First of all.... YAY! I'm so glad that they didn't break the bond! That's brilliant and the trials proved what a good thing they have together.

I have to admit though, the fact that Arthur's willing to give up Camelot for however many years, is quit surprising.... wonderful that he chose Merlin above everything else.... but surprising all the same. It's not something I can easily imagine happening in the show, as I have with most of the rest, but I guess that's what's so great about fanfiction, it doesn't have to! And I really do love the idea of it just being Arthur and Merlin, alone together, bonded so that they're almost one being....there's something really enticing about that thought, considering all the regulations of life in Camelot has them being almost the opposite.

I can't wait to read the next chapter to even get a glimpse of what that life is like.... even if it is the last chapter. Which is hard to believe, considering upon seeing this story was over 90,000 words long, I wasn't sure I would get hooked into it enough. ( ... )

Mmmm, yeah... I completely know what you're saying with Arthur's decision to leave Camelot for a period of time. It was a hard decision for me to make as a writer too, because I do really try and stick as closely to canon as I can. That being said, I didn't feel there were any other reasonable choices for him to make that wouldn't completely destroy his relationship with Uther. Also, I like to think of it as a temporary leave. Arthur certainly isn't giving up the crown (Merlin would never let him), just deferring for a bit instead. But anyway, hopefully you like how it all concludes. But if not, fair enough too! I always appreciate honest feedback :D

Anyway, thanks as always for you kind comments! I'm glad you're happy they kept the bond and I appreciate your feedback re: the decision to stay away from Camelot! Happy reading! :D

It's easy enough for Uther to make new plans for the succession. He'll have to if Arthur betrays him like this. The onl thing Arthur can do is found a new kingdom, if he leaves, and then fight for Camelot on Uther's death.

Haha, I'm sorry this isn't jiving with what you would expect or hope for, but thank you for continuing to read anyway :). I realise there are so many ways this whole thing could have gone down, this is just my convenient interpretation. I do appreciate the feedback though.
