The easiness between Arthur and Merlin has certainly been recaptured and I enjoyed Merlin burning the meat and the guys just acting silly. The journey is allowing Merlin more opportunity to share his secrets and I really enjoyed his emotional confessions about Balinor and dropping that bomb about Morgana's magic. Arthur's reaction to the news about Morgana was kinda hilarious.

The emotional connection between these two continues to blossom and the new intimacy they're sharing is lovely to read. Breaking the soul bond is still weighing heavily on both men, but it's in character for both to dance around the ramifications. Merlin's in a confessing mood, but talking about their feelings is another thing entirely.

The strange structure and sense of imminent danger ramped up the tension nicely and now that they're trapped with eight deadly wyverns, it's a wonder they can still find time to poke a bit of fun at one another. The "Hey, we're probably gonna die" kiss was a nice detail.

I'm glad you're enjoying some of the lightheartedness I tried to throw in there. I figure they've both suffered enough as it is and need a little bit of joy in their lives. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Arthur's reaction to the magic reveal about Morgana, and that you enjoyed Merlin burning the meat.

You've totally hit the nail on the head about how they're opening up more and actually talking properly, finally, but they're not quite ready to discuss feelings yet. Or, at the very least, Arthur isn't quite ready ;)

Also happy to hear that you liked the tension but also the humour thrown in. The kiss was totally unplanned, but it felt right when I was writing is, so I'm glad it resonated well with you!

Oh wow, I have to start off first by saying how much I loved Arthur's reaction to being inside Merlin, seemingly feeling complete. It was done superbly well and made so much sense considering their situation. You really feel just how connected they are with moments like that. Not to mention, I love how Arthur could feel Merlin's pain when Merlin was talking about Balinor. That was utterly beautiful and I really really really hope that they don't end up breaking that bond because I'd love to read more moments like that!...who cares if they can't go more than 10 miles away form each other!? O.o lol

I'm glad to hear you liked Arthur being able to actually feel Merlin's pain. I actually was trying to show that there was a strengthening of their bond following the sex, so hopefully that came across at least somewhat :). And yes... Arthur's an emotional cripple at times, which is why it's hard for him to deal with such powerful emotions when it comes to Merlin. But I think he's growning and learning and getting there slowly, hee! ;)

Wyverns are fun! I was also happy when they actually appeared on the show! Though I sort of didn't think that Merlin could control them, even though I knew they were part-dragon. Anyway, fun indeed! Thanks for the comment :)
