I have a different rec for Remus as a tortured soul. It's novel length, very well written and could be canon. Takes place after Oct. 1981, Remus devastated by the loss of those he held dear becomes increasingly isolated and disaster strikes..... It isn't a R/S romance but their past close relationship is mentioned often. Tempted?

That was it!!! Thanks. I must confess, I didn't have much hope for finding it, because it seems someone else had previously requested it in the tags, and no one found it for them, but YAY!

(much icon love BTW, I've seen that one around, and it gets me every time XD)
