Your narrator had to clarify because she could not work with so little information provided. "Which Blondie song, mother dear?"

"The one from Parallel Lines."

"Which one from Parallel Lines? Heart of Glass? One Way or Another? Hanging on the Telephone"No!" the ( Read more... )

Wow. That would have just driven me batshit angry. I'm impressed you actually bothered to go to such lengths just to figure it out.

If she'd said straight up "the rap song" I would've known immediately what she meant. Damn it was frustrating. But I try not to get too angry with her because I know she can't help losing her memory. :|

I don't think music had been invented when my parents grew up.

Interesting to see a post about Blondie. I remember when I was younger I used to have a big crush on her, not anymore I don't but when I was a kid growing up I used to have the biggest crush on her and I had all her albums.

She is pretty awesome, and still hot for her age. I read she's had surgery but she looks alright anyway!

My Mom justs sings (or says) one line of a song to me or throws me nothing but the artist's name, or nothing but the song's title, and me and my google-fu are expected to automagically do the rest. Luckily she's never thrown a song or artist at me I couldn't find, but when she gets into old '50s ballads and doo-wop, my magical powers must strengthen by many degrees. Finally, after years of doing this to me, she got me about two weeks ago: the band's name is The Chantelles, and the title of the song she wants is Maybe, and I cannot find it anywhere.

Score: Me: 99.9. Mom: 1. Go Mom.

That must be frustrating! I did a quick google for the band (hey, they're named after me, they must be awesome) and found practically nothing of use, so I see what you mean about them being obscure. Even Amazon doesn't have anything by them.

Oh, and your Mom has excellent taste. Queen Latifah cannot be beat.

She is pretty amazing. Is there anything she can't do?
