Sasuke said nothing as his brother stood before him. It was all too familiar but different at the same time. The air around them. His brother indifferent to the whole situation. Itachi's figure blurred for a moment though; a sharp reminder of how different everything was. He was not the shinobi that Itachi had fought before

There was a sense of surrealism about the whole situation. It was odd, for the lack of a better word, that Itachi did not see Sasuke lash out and claim to be of his brother’s death -- no fingers that lingered to a weapon, and such uncommitted actions made the Uchiha’s lips tense as though he was to un-expect something that was no doubt for the worst
