A1 left Friday night to be with his parents in Chicago. His dad is in the hospital. I miss him terribly but I also know he is being a tremendous support for his parents (his mum especially). You say cuh-thew-lew, I say kuh-TOO-loo...
Overheard at lunch, a trio of dorky kids discussing the pronunciation of Cthulhu. Lead dorky kid (who, sadly, I know) is snottily saying that Kuh-TOO-loo is wrong and insists it is properly pronounced cuth-EW-loo. Dorky girl adds chuh-ew-loo. Another kid adds cuh-thew-lew. There were other things tossed around like chew-loo, queue-too-loo, etc ( Read more... ) -

Maybe I am becoming a cranky fussy old broad, but I was horrified at something I saw today. A group of high school kids (complete with their West Lafayette High School letter jackets) was piling into a car after lunch.
