Argh, the person is misusing words. I hate it when people use a word incorrectly or use the wrong word. If English isn't their first language (or in some cases, even if it is) they need to check to make sure that they're using it correctly.
I've seen people do the same thing with French. I'm sure that the English language isn't the only one being desecrated.
(I tried reading a French language Facebook page recently and couldn't understand half of what people were saying. Too much joual.)

Just a quick comment. I've never heard of "creative spelling." However, there is a common teaching strategy that is called "Inventive spelling" that we use in the elementary grades. It actually is a legitimate strategy for teachers. Developmentally, kids have to learn how language works. So part of that learning is exploring with words and sounds before they reach a more concrete understanding of phonics and how the english language works.
That being said, I'm often saddened at the denigration of the english language by young people, and I often hate people who don't write out words fully. I say LOL every so often myself - but ARG! I never reply to emails that start with "How are U?" or stuff like that. It drives me crazy. *wink* That was me trying to be funny in case you didn't catch my sarcasm through the net.
*hugs* to you and L, I need to find a chance to give you guys a call soon. Maybe L can give me a ring if she's free sometime too this week.
