To answer the question in the title, no, science doesn't have a liberal bias - it can't. But scientists can, and apparently they do - at a recent scientific conference, just three out of a thousand attendees admitted to politically conservative views, which is pretty much a statistical impossibility. The bank that I work at has a "standard image" based on Windows XP, to simplify desktop support. Okay, I can live with that. Part of that standard image is Internet Explorer version 6. A few days back, I mentioned ACTA in passing. Looks like part of it has finally leaked, and the news is not good. Basically, this "treaty" will supersede any national law and force a "Super DMCA" type of system into place to protect the rights of artists (or, more commonly, corporations) at the expense of the consumer.
