give quinoa a chance

So I'm all about the food today...

I decided that I have had enough brown rice recently to kill someone, so I thought I'd give quinoa another chance, this time as a dinner food. Clearly, from my breakfast experience, you can't just cook it and eat it plain like rice, so I searched for a recipe on AllRecipes.com and found this one for quinoa pilafI ( Read more... )

mmmm...sounds delicious! :) Cumin powder would be lovely with the squash.

I thought of cumin first and changed my mind for some reason. I'll have to experiment with different combinations. :)

That sounds good, I've never cooked with quinoa. Do you like lentils? If so, I should send you a great curry recipe that I have, that you can also basially add whatever you want to. Although, it's better if you can use coconut milk - can you?

Yes and yes (I like lentils and I can - and frequently do - use coconut milk). Sounds good. :)

I love quinoa. I often use it in cold salads (like rice) or as a side dish (like rice pilaf). I have a vegan recipe for a stroganoff with tempeh that's served over quinoa. Yum!

PS I noticed you are on the CN. Hi!

Yum, that sounds really good. I saved it, I'll have to give it a try. I'll skip the cilantro too, though, just because I hate the stuff. :)
