I've recently purchased a new book called, The Spiritual Disciplines Handbook, by Adele Ahlberg Calhoun. It says God gives you desires for particular disciplines. It gives an anacronym, WORSHIP, that stands for:
Worship God
Open Myself to God
Relinquish the false self and idols of my heart
Share my life with others
Hear the Word of God

Reading Update
I finished "Friendship Cake." It was worth reading. The lives of the various women in the story were interesting to follow.
I am now reading, "Dear Lady," by Robin Lee Hatcher, and "Literacy Work Stations: Making Centers Work," by Debbie Diller. -

Now I am in the middle of reading, "The Friendship Cake," by Lynne Hinton. It is a delightful story about a group of women in a small town church. -

I am currently reading, " Chief Crazy Horse," by Chet Cunningham. It is a biography for older children, but it is very interesting for an adult to read, too.
