If you're going to sail down the Canal Du Midi , first, fill a jar with coins. I'd say about 40 Euro in two-bit pieces. The canal connects the Mediterranean to the Aude river close to the French coast with Spain, barely keeping both bodies of water apart from each other using a series of locks that halt the flow of the river to the ocean. Don't worry, it won't be in your lifetime. :) Well, unless we figure out how to avoid dying by cell regeneration. They're doing cool things with that technology.

As a species we seem to have a limited repertoire of conflict management which hasn't evolved since pre-Kindergarden. We still can't share well or play well together. But maybe, if we live longer, if the histories of how we have tried things, and failed before, might live out longer and we might have a chance of NOT repeating them for a change.

Maybe we could master conflict resolution 101. I remain hopeful and doubtful all at the same time.
