Some months ago, a friendship ended. I haven't been around because I associated our friendship with LJ, and it was just too painful to be here. Time has healed a little, or at least I've come to accept the absence, so maybe I'm ready to come back. -

I don't think I've introduced this guy here. He's a Switch Mara on a Volks SDGr boy body and he was sort of an impulse buy. I've liked Switch since they started but none of the sculpts seemed right for me. I really like Rusi but he was too close to Kaspar in demeanor, so this dreaming version of Rusi, Mara, was a perfect adjustment.

It is hard, very hard, to be satisfied with one's own face-up work when the only other non-default dolls in the house are painted by the likes of Sairin, Uyuchagongbang, SDink, LynR, Hoshino Clinic and Nocturnal Doll....but then again, I don't exactly sit around practicing painting eyebrow hairs while I'm watching all of that TV do I? best doll meet location ever?
It's hard to find good-looking indoor spaces for doll meets and free spaces are pretty much non-existent. I've checked out a few event space rentals in the past, but then it occurred to me to check the Haas-Lilienthal House since I walk by it often enough.
