I'm in the midst of a toy poodle saga, trying to weigh whether a great breeder is worth another $1000 for a dog we can't easily meet because he's in Southern California. We've met a puppy up here who seems sweet, but the breeder seems a little scary (dirty, unsure of ancestry, etc.). The price, however, is much better with the scary breeder. What to do

But I would think that if you're going to get pure breds that you go for the best breeder you can find. Or just adopt some sweet dogs from rescue places if the expensive dogs are too much. This, of course, is based on my expertise in buying dogs ;-).
And it's HOT here, too!! So I know what you're going through. We need to make another chat date (and drag Rov in), I think....it's been TOO long!! But we're going camping this weekend...so next week sometime??
