To be honest, this doesn't sound like an idiot thing you did. What did he expect you to do? Keep hidden as a rat? Yes, you could have played for your Oscar and said "I'm lost, what's the way to ...." but hey, for such a hunk, I would have also lost my head :)

Which part is the stupid part? I got the smokin' hot trade part, and the I blew a horse, scared jerk who became abusive part. But I did not get the stupid part.

I mean your reactions were very, very normal then, but if you really look at it now with the benefit of 20-20 hindsight I wonder if you see anything in that situation that makes you think the guy was worth having as a friend (with no benefits). I don't see it from what you've reported. You should give yourself a hug and allow yourself to feel proud you had a scene straight out of high quality porn and then you managed to extricate yourself before it turned all tragic. Then you can imagine telling yourself now that you're all grown up you'll protect your inner fumbling teen from those kinds of jerks in the future.
