So apparently at work our layout department has started this friendly holiday decoration contest. It all started with one of the "teams" in layout taking a spare computer, dumping a fireplace screensaver on it, and building a fireplace around it. I admit, it was pretty ingenious, and since then everyone's trying to top that

Just decorate your monitor to look like a fireplace... have a fire screen saver in place and hang mini stockings from the mantle on the monitor. Get a mini xmas tree and put little presents around it. Essentially turn your little workstation area into a cozy home. We can grab some scented oil tomorrow when we are out shopping. Give it a scent of pine and warm cinnamon apple pie.

Just because I´ve always wanted to do this...come into work earlier than usual and hang mistletoe across the ENTIRE ceiling. Then dangle a few signs reminding people to do what they have to do under mistletoe *EG*

Can't go wrong with a popcorn machine - in a costume.

Go to the Dollar Store - get a cheap plastic face decoration, and then affix it in front of the Microwave. Instant X-mas Decoration. "Micro, the Popcorn Elf..." Xmas Superhero to the rescue.

You might need some "theme" music.

at least it's the though that counts - but at least it goes well with that cup of coffee, or seconds.
