Not quite Multilingual Monday, or: Prove Me Wrong!

I'm convinced right now that NOTHING is being currently published in the Cherokee tongue, be it in the Cherokee script or in romanization. All of the Cherokee newspapers I see are English, and the only book I've seen with substantial amounts of Cherokee outside of learners' materials, is the New Testament ( Read more... )

I found a couple things for you, although they're online resources and not anything printed. There is the Cherokee Language Edition of Wikipedia. And the second one actually falls under learner's materials but I found it on the same page as the Wikipedia, and that's the Cherokee Language Edition Wiktionary. Maybe if you wrote to someone at Cherokee Nation or the Cherokee Phoenix they could point you to something.

It's been a family rumor that my great-great-great grandfather on my mother's side was a Cherokee chief. But we've never been able to confirm it because no one can remember ever hearing a name.

Do you remember the Onion article that showed that by sometime in the near future, Klingon speakers would outnumber Cherokee speakers?

From what I've read...

There is a Gentleman that is the founder of this particular language and had developed software FONT so the SEQUOIA SYLLABLES could be read, in order to read is Monthly Newsletter.

Once upon a time on the internet... people would say, "Read this Gentleman's Newsletter." in 2002.

At this point, I've heard of a College in Alabama State, that is using this as a curriculum assignment for credits. There was a link recently, and wanted to let people know that Alabama State is in process of trying to lure others to come there and participate in that class, and gathering.

That is what my sources say.

--- Still, keep in mind that if you study more than one language, the amount of how much attention you can apply to looking at News-worthy events are in diminishing returns.

Again, best bet is to check carefully for new LINKS on the internet.
