A friend of mine had recently resurfaced after a bout of depression, and he had told me that he's going to Israel for World Pride this weekend (along with my rabbi when I lived closer to Chicago). Oddly enough I saw a news-magazine story about how the Israeli Airline is one of the safest to fly simply because they interview each person before boarding.

It's a lil nosey by necessity I suppose.

Ummm...yeah, I'd hazard a guess that going to Israel right now does not rank amongst the smartest of ideas.

If it's any consolation, he's still far more likely to be killed or injured driving to the airport than at any other point during his trip. The USA has always had a higher murder rate than Israel, even at the height of the Intifada. Besides, World Pride is taking place in Jerusalem, which is completely out of range of any weapons Hezbollah is known or suspected to possess.
