Fourteenth PSI

[It is time to sum up what Lucas has been doing all summer.  This is the culmination of hours of hard work and dedication.  This is the pinnacle of success for the boy who has been deprived of a normal childhood.  It is also the first time the player has tried a post of this sort.

[repeatsalvation]

[The man takes the blow to the face, head leering back at the force. He doesn't look fazed in the least when he faces Lucas again, though a small trickle of blood is running down his face from his nose. He doesn't seem to notice. Rather, he just seems interested.]

How interesting. I've never seen anyone manage such force with a toy before.

[a_gentle_boy]

[Lucas blinks for a few moments at the man who had popped out of nowhere, seemingly almost confused as to why his yo-yo had suddenly rebounded. It takes another few moments for him to return to reality.]

A-Ah! I'm really sorry; I didn't see you! L-Let me get that for you.

[Fwoosh. Here comes a Lifeup Alpha.]

[repeatsalvation]

[He simply stands still and lets Lucas heal him. He doesn't necessarily seem surprised at Lucas' psychic ability as much as intrigued.]

How interesting. Are there many of you here?

W-What? No, there's only one of me, I'm pretty sure.

[dodo_master]

[A weird little man and his pet dodo stop to watch you with the recorder. He folds his arms and considers you seriously. Once Lucas stops and gives up, he waves a discerning finger.]

Now now! You'll never get anywhere giving up that quickly! Goodness, who taught you?

[a_gentle_boy]

. . . Nobody.

[His tone is glum. His answer also explains a good deal.]

I don't know. Maybe I'm not meant to play an instrument.

[dodo_master]

[Cynric picks up your recorder and inspects it. Personal space, what is that.]

Well there's your problem! You can't just pick up an instrument and expect to master it overnight. It takes practice! Discipline! Training! Took me years to learn how to sing, you know. It's challenging, but very rewarding.

I can already sing. I've just never tried to play something before, but it's been a month and all the birds still fly away.

Except for that, I guess.

[He seems to notice the dodo for the first time. His facial expression is difficult to define, but appears to be a mix of surprise and resignation.]

Um. H-Hi, Miss Shina! I'm just. Watering the lawn. Aha. Ha.

[Five seconds later, the bush erupts in flames again. Lucas sighs and adjusts the power setting of the hose to Mega Tsunami.]

[a_gentle_boy]

We haven't done it in a really long time.

[The bush appears to be dissolving.]

[wolf_wolves]

[BAM right in the face. Free is blasted over onto his back, probably with a broken nose.]

Did NOT see that one coming.

[a_gentle_boy]

Mr. Free?! A-Ah, where did you come from?! I'm so sorry . . . It's a good thing you're immortal, r-right?

[wolf_wolves]

'M fine. Don' call me Mr.

[Sure enough, with a quiet crack his nose reshapes itself to normal. He looks around at the various bits of destruction Lucas has caused.]

What's all this about, then?

[Lucas seems to notice it for the first time, too, and silently sweatdrops for a little bit.]

Um. You wouldn't believe me if I told you that there was a really small typhoon that only affected our yard, right?

[[WHACK. Massimo's face is hit, though luckily, his helmet takes most of the blow. It causes him to clutch his face and simply stare down at Lucas.]]

...Oww...

[a_gentle_boy]

[There is a strange blankness in Lucas's eyes as he stares back at the robot who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere. He shakes out of this soon enough, though.]

. . . Wh -- Augh! Did I hit you? Did I hurt you? A-Ah, I'm so sorry. Please, lie down if you need to.

[He almost drags Massimo towards the porch furniture.]

[steel_massifail]

[[lucas i'm like twice as tall as you]]

Nng. N-no, I'm fine.

[[He takes off his helmet and rubs his nose, though.]]

Where'd you learn to hit like that...?

. . . Are you sure?

And I guess it came from a lot of experience.
