Fourteenth PSI

[It is time to sum up what Lucas has been doing all summer.  This is the culmination of hours of hard work and dedication.  This is the pinnacle of success for the boy who has been deprived of a normal childhood.  It is also the first time the player has tried a post of this sort.

Four scenarios will be presented.  One is welcome to respond to as

[Lucas is completely engrossed in his efforts and fails to notice Loki's approach. When the boy speaks, Lucas instinctively tries to snap his notebook shut.]

N-Nothing. Well. I mean, that depends on how much you saw.

Really?

It's not something I ever tried before coming here, but I like it, uh-huh.

[Courage watched Lucas' yo-yo shenanigans with fascination and fear...until it flew straight at the little pink dog.

Then it just turned into fear. Courage takes the yo-yo in the nose with an audible "Oof!" and then, as he rubs it with his paws.]

Oooooh...

[a_gentle_boy]

[Courage is met with the same few moments of silent confusion as the others before Lucas seems to realize that he has just smacked a cute little dog in the face. A cute little pink dog, but a dog nonetheless. He drops the yo-yo immediately.]

O-Oh . . . I'm sorry, boy. Did I get you really hard?

[And because he doesn't think Courage is anything other than a normal dog, a wave of Lifeup Alpha comes its way.]

[Courage looks up at Lucas and shakes his head. He's OK. It just stung for a minute is all...

OK, or there is a wave of...something coming his way and not only does he stand up on two paws too get a closer look, he audibly gasps at it...before realizing that, hey, he feels a lot better.

So he grins and chuckles. That was really nice!]

Does that feel better? I'm sorry again.

[Lucas's hand is instinctively reaching to pet and scratch Courage, memories of Boney surfacing unbidden.]

I haven't seen you around before . . . But you look mostly like a normal dog. Except for the color.

Three!

[snackaholictank]

What are you doing?

Three!

[a_gentle_boy]

Nothing! . . . Oh! Hi, Shiraaasan. Still nothing.

Three!

[snackaholictank]

[Peeeeeering over your shoulder now.]

Are you drawing something?

[a_gentle_boy]

. . . Nothing. See?

[Lucas flips the page quickly to a blank one and smiles.]

It's a pretty good representation, right?

[It might be a good thing that Margot is passing by -- seeing the fire and Lucas trying to put it out, she extends a hand toward the flames, seeming to suck them toward her, before clenching her fingers shut, extinguishing the roses.]

Um. Lucas. What are you trying to do?

The, um. Bush hasn't been watered in a while.

[The bush looks like it ought to be mercifully put out of its misery at this point. Lucas is also still conspicuously sooty.]

And so it spontaneously caught on fire. Uh-huh.

. . . Gosh, I think I heard something in church about things like that. Maybe it's a miracle.

Fourth

[bluecapboy]

[Luke was just trying to say hello, why are you trying to kill him with a yo-yo all of a sudden.

Unfortunately, the boy is just a little too slow and takes a yo-yo to the face, knocking him right off his feet.]

[a_gentle_boy]

[Lucas stops almost immediately and runs to his friend's side.]

L-Luke! What are you doing here? A-Ah, I'm so sorry!

[bluecapboy]

[Luke sits back up, rubbing the spot on his forehead where the yo-yo hit.]

Oof...I was coming over to visit.

[a_gentle_boy]

Oh, I'm really sorry. I don't know what happened . . . I guess I just sorta stopped paying attention.
