Granted, none of those times without powers had involved the potential danger of weird zombie rapist pirates attacking- but that was why Kal-El was currently training in front of the safe-house, trying to reach the peak of his human body. Trying to learn how to stop holding back. He hadn’t really been avoiding people… it had just been a natural thing to him. Once he realized he didn’t have his powers anymore he thought he had to find better ways to protect his friends- to protect everybody.
And if that involved training all over again, then so be it.]

[Dick is sitting nearby, watching the other train. He knew that even without powers, Clark at least knew how to get around still.] I brought you water. The weather here is pretty hot, so you don't want to get dehydrated. [A short pause before he speaks again.] What do you think is going to happen this week? [It's an honest question. Dick just wanted to hear his thoughts on it. Dick had his own guesses after all.]

In the week he'd been here, he'd been spending time figuring things out and getting a grip on this place. But now he at least had an idea of it, which meant it was time to get back to work. However before he was getting ready for his 3 mile run, he stopped and spotted the pair of heroes standing there. He recognized Dick from their talk earlier, and this was the first chance he was getting to look at Superman here.*
Hello... *he said to the pair, in his normal voice which was clearly more of a teenager's tone than the one Dick had heard before* I assume this is the workout group?

We'll be attacked again. [There isn't a trace of doubt on his voice.] At this point the question is 'when', and how to be prepared. But I think we can do it.
[He turned to look at the new-comer...] I suppose you could say that. Superman. [He said as a presentation, holding his hand out]

She had been training most of the day and was just trying to not use up all her energy, especially with how unpredictable the Reaver attacks have been.

"You okay?"

"Some of the fighting did me in a little, but so far its only bruises."

"We have some cold compresses in the first aid kit if you want one."

But he had no time to lament over this. He had to find Timothy. He made a promise and he was very well going to keep that promise, which was why he was back at the safehouse. He'd stick to speak, but only for a short period of time. He still needed to find Accelerator then go back into battle. "Timothy? Are you here?"

Still, while it had quieted mildly he didn't let the tension fade from his form as paced throughout the room, back and forth between rubbing his hands together, rubbing his forearms and then crossing them. Still, when he heard the voice it was not the voice he expected to hear--it was Steve and he turned to face him, eyes wide.
"Steve."

He held out Bucky's shield to Timothy. It was obvious it had to be Bucky's. Steve's own shield was on his back, and it would be impossible to miss the disk-like shield even on a man like Steve. "I was informed to give this to you if anything were to happen." His voice was neutral, but there was a sadder tone to his voice and a look of guilt flashed through his eyes. "He...Bucky won't be returning from the battlefield."

Timothy feels his stomach clench and his chest starts to rise and fall heavier, quicker than before. Rubbing his hands on his slacks nervously he reaches out with hesitance, staring at the object as he listens to the other talk.
"I--" His fingers wrap around the edge, tears sliding along the corners of his eyes but refusing to fall.

That, and he wanted to speak to Accelerator about some things before he wen't on his way back onto the battlefield. He had no intention of giving those things any mercy for what they were doing. They've long lost any sympathy Steve might have had.

His voice was bitter. Bitter because he was on that battlefield with Bucky. He had fought alongside the other. When did they get separated far enough that this was to happen? He couldn't remember. He just knew that he was ashamed that he broke his promise to make sure both of them returned in one piece.
"The raids are still going on though, but I couldn't let this get potentially taken." He intended to return back right after he restocked on anything he needed. And maybe he just needed to take a breath to let everything sink in a little better.

Not quiet enough for Bucky to be out of uniform, though. He had worn it constantly since Monday after attempting to patch the few rips in it from battle. When he wanders out, quiet as a shadow, his cowl is down, expression almost blank, shield on his back. Wordlessly, he climbs the rock pile to stand by Timothy, a commanding presence despite his shorter height. Even unmasked, in this uniform, he's Captain America.]
Hey.

How are you feeling?

It's enough to shake anyone to their foundation, but especially someone who isn't used to seeing things like this. Bucky was raised on war. He killed his first man at sixteen. He's learned how to handle death and fighting and bloodshed and killing; Timothy hasn't, has he?]
Good as I can, all things considered. [He glances down to his side, to the white of bandages peeking out a small rip in his suit.] This side's practically all scar tissue anyway.
[His voice softens just a touch as he turns his gaze back to Timothy.] How are you doing? I know this is a lot to deal with.
