[It wasn’t Clark’s first time without powers. Red light, magic- both had left him powerless at one point, and he’d managed to go on without them for a while. Using his wit, weapons or simply a friend’s help… he was never a quitter.

Granted, none of those times without powers had involved the potential danger of weird zombie rapist pirates attacking- but that was why Kal-El was currently training in front of the safe-house, trying to reach the peak of his human body. Trying to learn how to stop holding back. He hadn’t really been avoiding people… it had just been a natural thing to him. Once he realized he didn’t have his powers anymore he thought he had to find better ways to protect his friends- to protect everybody.

And if that involved training all over again, then so be it.]

This is going to be a bad week.

[Dick is sitting nearby, watching the other train. He knew that even without powers, Clark at least knew how to get around still.] I brought you water. The weather here is pretty hot, so you don't want to get dehydrated. [A short pause before he speaks again.] What do you think is going to happen this week? [It's an honest question. Dick just wanted to hear his thoughts on it. Dick had his own guesses after all.]

*Terry would be stretching out, wearing a shirt with the the sleeves half-torn making it into a t-shirt and a pair of well-worn looking pants. He didn't want to get the nicer looking clothes he'd been wearing dirty during his workout. Part of him knew looking at the alternate versions of people that he knew, these were people in their prime, and in comparison he had alot of work to do in order to be worth fighting alongside some of them.

In the week he'd been here, he'd been spending time figuring things out and getting a grip on this place. But now he at least had an idea of it, which meant it was time to get back to work. However before he was getting ready for his 3 mile run, he stopped and spotted the pair of heroes standing there. He recognized Dick from their talk earlier, and this was the first chance he was getting to look at Superman here.*

Hello... *he said to the pair, in his normal voice which was clearly more of a teenager's tone than the one Dick had heard before* I assume this is the workout group?

[Clark looked up at Dick after a push-up, smiling at the water. He hadn't thought of that himself... Having the bats around when there was training to be done was always useful. He stood up and reached for it, pushing the sweat away from his forehead.]

We'll be attacked again. [There isn't a trace of doubt on his voice.] At this point the question is 'when', and how to be prepared. But I think we can do it.

[He turned to look at the new-comer...] I suppose you could say that. Superman. [He said as a presentation, holding his hand out]

Chie's glad she has somewhere to go, with all the chaos, lack of her persona and deaths- its left her less inclined to poke around Haven any. Its why she's glad to sit down on the couch in the old farm house, bruised up legs making her expel a tiny, "Sheesh," as she checks over one of her legs for anything serious.

She had been training most of the day and was just trying to not use up all her energy, especially with how unpredictable the Reaver attacks have been.

Kate's just finished her archery lesson with Namine and is coming back into the house. The younger girl did pretty well but she still needs a lot of practice. Luckily, all they have is time, especially once they get back to F1. The only problem there is finding a bow for her to practice with. But that's something to worry about another time. Stepping into the living room she looks up, blinking at the sudden person she's never met before. One of the other capes must have brought her here.

"You okay?"

"Oh! Uh, yeah I am." She's used to hiding bruises like this from her folks, so she falters at first but figures hiding it would be pretty pointless. Especially pointless when surrounded by apparent super heros. Chie just rests her hand on her knee as she settles her feet back on the floor.

"Some of the fighting did me in a little, but so far its only bruises."

Kate just smiles a bit at the reaction and sets her bow on the table. Yeah, there's really no reason to hide bruises around a superhero. They're kind of used to being covered in them. Comes with the job. "That's good at least. That you didn't get seriously hurt, I mean." Taking her quiver off her back. Man is she exhausted.

"We have some cold compresses in the first aid kit if you want one."

Wednesday-After Bucky's Captured | Closed to Timothy rogersthat September 14 2011, 21:15:09 UTC
Bucky was gone. He couldn't stop it. Couldn't save Bucky from whatever hell he was probably going to go through. It's just like the drone plane incident all over again except Bucky wasn't going to survive. He'd die and come back in whatever terrible mental state he'd be in.

But he had no time to lament over this. He had to find Timothy. He made a promise and he was very well going to keep that promise, which was why he was back at the safehouse. He'd stick to speak, but only for a short period of time. He still needed to find Accelerator then go back into battle. "Timothy? Are you here?"

He was clueless to this fact. Once the entire thing had happened, he had left the hillside where the father-figure had found him before the attack. Ordered back to the house he had followed the request and from then on had remained int he room that Bucky had sent him in the last two times it had happened. Looking out the window he could hear the screams throughout the night. It was horrible, it was something that he never expected to hear within his lifetime, the sounds of murder and struggle, of battle. Timothy had come from a nothing town, with a nothing future, misery and his own struggle but this as all war, only the things he read about in books and learned about in history classes.

Still, while it had quieted mildly he didn't let the tension fade from his form as paced throughout the room, back and forth between rubbing his hands together, rubbing his forearms and then crossing them. Still, when he heard the voice it was not the voice he expected to hear--it was Steve and he turned to face him, eyes wide.

"Steve."

It was impossible to tell what Steve was feeling right now, but it was nothing good. His entire body was tense and his face was devoid of the usual kind expressions he had before. After all, this wasn't the first time he's seen to much chaos. He looked like how he did in battle. A soldier, not just another man.

He held out Bucky's shield to Timothy. It was obvious it had to be Bucky's. Steve's own shield was on his back, and it would be impossible to miss the disk-like shield even on a man like Steve. "I was informed to give this to you if anything were to happen." His voice was neutral, but there was a sadder tone to his voice and a look of guilt flashed through his eyes. "He...Bucky won't be returning from the battlefield."

He wasn't aiming to tell what the other was feeling, he was simply watching him carefully. This was all new to him, the chaos of battle and war, the screams across the night. There was only so much someone could take but Steve was about to hand Timothy the one thing that would be his breaking point. A pause and a breath and he is watching Steve's face carefully, his eyes trailing over each movement and reaction, but it's not the face that moves first, it is the others hands. His eyes look up, then down, focusing on the shield. Another glance and he notes the others shield on his back, then back to the shield in his hand and it's suddenly clear.

Timothy feels his stomach clench and his chest starts to rise and fall heavier, quicker than before. Rubbing his hands on his slacks nervously he reaches out with hesitance, staring at the object as he listens to the other talk.

"I--" His fingers wrap around the edge, tears sliding along the corners of his eyes but refusing to fall.

Wednesday-After finding Timothy | Closed to Accelerator rogersthat September 14 2011, 21:22:07 UTC
He hoped Timothy would do well to take care of himself, but he had no time to fret and lecture the other about doing anything risky. He had to find Accelerator to deliver Bucky's prosthetic to him.

That, and he wanted to speak to Accelerator about some things before he wen't on his way back onto the battlefield. He had no intention of giving those things any mercy for what they were doing. They've long lost any sympathy Steve might have had.

Accelerator wasn't happy about sticking around the hideout. He'd been there when the raid started and he didn't exactly want to go out look for trouble but...he had people he needed to protect and it wasn't like they'd just be shot. No. There were crazed cannibals out there determined to slowly strip the flesh from their still-living bodies. 10032 assured him that she was with people that would keep her safe and there was nothing to worry about but...well, with the clones' knack for getting into trouble he'd never believe that. And there were others he wanted to keep out of harm's way. Xion. Nepeta. That little bird kid. He stood ready, paranoia kicking in as he waited for something to break in. He was also obsessively checking the feed in case anyone he actually cared about protecting needed him...only to feel all the guiltier for listening to Bucky's suggestion to hold down the fort when Lucy's video showed up ( ... )

"You can put that gun down for now. There's nothing of hostile intention in here." Steve came into view, but his expression was grim. Bucky's bionic arm was also held into his hand. He was sure that Accelerator would understand quickly of Bucky's fate. It would be impossible to think that Bucky was okay but without this arm. Steve couldn't pretend that the worst has come to past for him. "He won't be returning. He told me to deliver this to you if this scenario was to become reality."

His voice was bitter. Bitter because he was on that battlefield with Bucky. He had fought alongside the other. When did they get separated far enough that this was to happen? He couldn't remember. He just knew that he was ashamed that he broke his promise to make sure both of them returned in one piece.

"The raids are still going on though, but I couldn't let this get potentially taken." He intended to return back right after he restocked on anything he needed. And maybe he just needed to take a breath to let everything sink in a little better.

Upon seeing Steve, Accelerator relaxed his arm, but only lowered the gun slightly. His face fell when he noticed the arm ( ... )

WEDNESDAY PRE-RAID | CLOSED TO BUCKY bridalgownwings September 15 2011, 03:35:15 UTC
[It was the afternoon and he had nothing better to do. Sure, it was likely safest thing to do after Monday's attack, to stick close to the safe-house and yeah, that's what he was doing but honestly he needed to get out into the air even though there was still a distinct smell of iron that drifted over the landscape. Something akin to what his berry had been doing in the week prior, Timothy stood amongst the rocks piled on top of each other, ledges and coves hidden against the desert sun that blared down past thick clouds pushing and pulling between each others space, a proverbial battle. It reminded him of being by the lake at home, though so much different in aesthetics as considering the surroundings reminded him a western film compared to the greenery of his hometown ( ... )

[Tensions had been high since the Monday raid. When will it happen again? was the question on everyone's minds, no doubt. The gold collars didn't help in making people less nervous. Bucky had fought to defend the main stronghold during the Monday raid, and the one last week, and he would fight again if it were attacked once more, but for now, things were quiet.

Not quiet enough for Bucky to be out of uniform, though. He had worn it constantly since Monday after attempting to patch the few rips in it from battle. When he wanders out, quiet as a shadow, his cowl is down, expression almost blank, shield on his back. Wordlessly, he climbs the rock pile to stand by Timothy, a commanding presence despite his shorter height. Even unmasked, in this uniform, he's Captain America.]

Hey.

[He heard him approaching because he could hear the sound of the slip of the smaller rocks and the rustle of the dried out grass amongst the desert landscape. Still, Timothy didn't turn to face him, simply halted his song as he looked outward and exhaled quietly. Rocking back on his heels he shoved his hands in his pockets. The silence lingers after the familiar voice speaks until he parts his lips once more and finally turned to face Bucky a little more, eyes dark and not at full of life as they normally were, they had gone back to how they looked before he started to meet people at facility, before he started to come out of his shell.] Hey.

How are you feeling?

bucky_cap September 15 2011, 20:17:34 UTC
[The lack of a greeting smile bothers him a little. Timothy usually gives him that, at least. He can't really blame him, though, things had gotten pretty bad this trip. People are hurt, people are missing, the reaver threat constantly looms over their heads like a dark cloud. All the peace from the first week is gone.

It's enough to shake anyone to their foundation, but especially someone who isn't used to seeing things like this. Bucky was raised on war. He killed his first man at sixteen. He's learned how to handle death and fighting and bloodshed and killing; Timothy hasn't, has he?]

Good as I can, all things considered. [He glances down to his side, to the white of bandages peeking out a small rip in his suit.] This side's practically all scar tissue anyway.

[His voice softens just a touch as he turns his gaze back to Timothy.] How are you doing? I know this is a lot to deal with.
