Sunday morning | Bucky and Babs gingerbatgirl August 28 2011, 06:22:10 UTC
[Babs is just coming out of the one of the rooms in the back of the house. She didn't want to change into her costume in front of people though it sounds like it might be a good idea. She's still not totally sure how she feels about the whole superhero thing but it sounds like it's going to necessary on this trip. She's already in costume as she walks into the main room, cowl down, pulling her gloves on. The yellow bat on her chest will probably be the most noticeable thing. Hi Bucky, meet Batgirl]

Everything set up?

[Bucky hasn't gotten into costume yet. The living room is fairly cozy, and he's seated on the overstuffed, slightly musty couch, with his folded uniform neatly on the scuffed coffee table in front of him, along with a certain shield. He's kind of surprised he was given it back; although it makes him wonder if Steve has his, too. When Barbara walks in, though, he glances up, takes note of the outfit.]

All bats and birds in your group, isn't it? [He remarks lightly, though not impolitely.] Everything should be set up. Billy's going to work some magic around the perimeter and report back when he's done.

[She just smiles a bit at the comment, giving him a shrug]

I guess you could say that the person who started it all had a bit of a thing for small flying animals. It caught on after a while. [She finishes putting the gloves on, smoothing out her cape a bit] Billy? Is that one of the kids from your world?

I'm hardly one to talk. The Captain America uniform has tiny wings on the cowl. Tradition. [It's just not the same without the teeny little headwings.] Yeah. Wiccan. One of the twins. He has some sort of magic or reality warping ability, he should be able to put up some invisible defenses against intruders.

[Dick has yet to change into his own batsuit surprisingly. Instead of going straight for the Bat persona, Dick actually was still in his civilian clothes and scouting around the place for supplies. Of course he ends up doing this from morning to some odd hour in the night. He didn't want people seeing him head into the building ( ... )

'Less bandits attack us or something. [Alfred's looking pretty cheerful, sitting back from the table with a chipped mug full of dark coffee] Got some coffee from the store earlier, dude, you want some? There's a tin mug; makes you feel all old-western-like.

[And eyeing those guns with pleasure] Anything you recognize?

I don't know if we'll have bandits attack, but we should be ready for anything that hits us. [He smiles tiredly.] Coffee sounds good right now actually. I wanted to make another run for more ammo honestly. I don't know how available supplies will be next week or the week after. I want to stock up while things seem quiet right now.

I can probably fire any of these guns. I had extensive training to put together and apart any type of gun that could be used against me. I got extra training while in the Academy too, so it's standard procedure that I know how to work them. I just don't like to use them.

Over there on the counter. [Alfred jabs his thumb backward to a cracked but steaming pot of coffee. He's leaning back in his chair now, feet against the counter keeping him up] I'm gonna try and fix up the ship better tomorrow, so I can do some supply runs more safely in her.

Yeah? Awesome. [Still eyeing that pile, he can pick out a couple models he knows, or at least types he recognizes] Why dont'cha like to use 'em? Best defense for people who can't defend themselves. [But Alfred smiles] Guess you can though huh?

late Sunday afternoon, open! empyreanistic August 28 2011, 14:12:22 UTC
[About 3 o'clock on Sunday there is a sudden burst of noise outside the house. It sounds like the high whine of a plane engine, but a little softer, and there's wind being kicked up everywhere. All in all it's quite startling.

Until, suddenly, it cuts off and out of the ensuing cloud of dust from something large landing on the ground comes Alfred, bolting onto the screened porch looking thrilled and shouting]

GUYS GUYS YOU GUYS THERE ARE SPACESHIPS THIS IS LIKE SPACE COWBOY WORLD! I got a ship from the depot in town, just needed a little engine tune-up and I don't even know how it's powered but she flies like a beauty and I fig're we can use her for supplies!

[Did he mention he's talking in a deep, rustic South-western cowboy drawl? This is what happens when you stick America into what is essentially his Old Wild West]

[The whine of an engine catches Bucky's attention pretty damn fast; eyes widen slightly and he grabs one of the rifles off the kitchen table and heads out to the screened porch. He's a little surprised when it's just Alfred, and lowers the gun pretty quickly to glance out at the-

Oh my god he found a spaceship. And he's talking like a southerner.]

...You found a spaceship. [Have that obvious statement while he goes over this in his head.] That- That's actually a good idea, transporting supplies, I'm just worried about drawing attention to the house up here. Thing's not exactly subtle. [He's thinking, though. Hmm...]

I found a spaceship. [Drawling like his Southern citizens, long and lazy even as he nearly vibrates with excitement] A spaceship, man, in this tiny ramshackle little town! It's the best thing! She's totally energy-efficient and I was gonna work on a way to make 'er a bit quieter but I wanted to show you guys first. Make 'er more subtle.

[On one hand, parking a spaceship outside their kind of run-down looking little hideout is definitely going to draw attention. On the other, the thought of having fast, relatively safe transport for supplies and people is too good to pass up, especially if Alfred's figured out how to pilot and maintain the thing.]

Making it a bit quieter would be great if you can manage it. Believe me, I'm all for it, it would make getting supplies out here a hell of a lot easier, I'm just wondering where we're going to park it. [Thoughtful look as he glances out over the landscape.] I wonder if we could have Wiccan enchant it, make it invisible when it's out here...

OOC-Note? azrthmtrnznthos August 29 2011, 01:44:38 UTC
Raven's likely willing to help with wards/protections and the immediate area.

If you want her to, just summarize what they are / what they do, etc and PM it to me, I'll add it to the hideout writeup.~

[Ten minutes, and it wasn't hard to find the location. Felt nice to have full use of her abilities again too, including limited teleportation. She arrived first, taking a look around the buildings and surrounding area as much as she could, pondering defenses and what she might be able to add to it. Good use of time, while waiting for Bucky.]

[Bucky's there in about fifteen. It took a few minutes longer to get out of town and he took the longer, more subtle path to the hideout. Billy's invisible alarm system flashes briefly blue as he passes into the twenty foot radius, but falls away into nothing again as it recognizes him. Handy system, really. He heads right inside, figuring Raven will follow.]

You want some tea or coffee? There was some in the load of supplies Alfred brought by. Somehow he found a spaceship. Not that I'm complaining, takes people off pack-mule duty.

[Rae'll definitely follow; she's chill and fairly calm, really. So far anyways.]

No, thank you though. A spaceship? Really? Huhn...

Yeah, a spaceship. Bit of a shock when he pulled up in it. [He shakes his head, moves to pour himself a cup of coffee from the pot. Old fashioned tin mugs, fun fun.]

Right. De-briefing. Where to start... We've gotten several new capes in the last couple of batches. Vision and... my old war-time partner, Steve Rogers, from my world. Steve is the first Captain America, and this one's from 1945. He doesn't remember anything after that.
