Charles Xavier → 001 → Video

[ There's a light crackle of noise at first, and blackness, the light sound of almost fabric rubbing echoing through the microphone before the ceiling is suddenly in view and half of Charles' face in addition to that. ]

No-- wait come back here, this instant! [ He is a bit snappish, but that's to be expected when he's suddenly found himself so far ( Read more... )

[Somehow Bucky has managed to wrangle his own device. The audio is slightly muffed, but that's because he's got a pretty good grip on it - a metal hand comes in handy when the thing starts biting.]

Ah, you... getting things under control? [The flux of newbies is worrying. It's like they're changing the scheduling again...] Did you just arrive?

[ There's another mild groan before he can find the proper words to answer. ] I'm attempting to, though I think it's trying to trip me and--

[ A brief pause and a quiet curse. ]

-- I did; yes, are you from around here? --I mean, wherever here happens to be, I find it's quite unusual-- like a western.

The devices seem to be acting... freakin' weird this week- Damn it I told you to quit biting, it isn't like I can feel it, you stupid little- Ah, no. No one's really 'from around here', if you mean this B-movie western town.

Have you gotten the explanation about this place yet? I can also send a write-up to read as soon as you get your faciliberry under control.

I've gotten a bit of one. [ He admits after a momentary pause. ] Something about a torture facility or something like that? [ He asks softly. ]

But I didn't imagine that would be designed like -- well, this.

[ He's got his own device pinned to a wall with relative ease, it had put up an extraordinary fight to begin with-- though it's one of his lesser concerns given the current circumstances; because damn it all, he had been right about the humans-- and now he had been separated from Charles, and stranded in this-- this place. It's an oddly dark landscape; reminiscent of a desert. He's behind what, if he didn't know better, seems to be a saloon from an old Western film. Reaching upwards, his fingers brush against the odd band around his neck-- a collar that he had woken up with upon arrival ( ... )

Erik--! [ He's exceptionally thankful for the familiar face; because at this point in time he's a bit more than lost and terribly uncomfortable-- and has a few bites he's non too proud of from wrestling the damned thing. Still, he manages to get it half pinned under his grey vest-- having decided to use it instead of his favored cardigan (forbid something happened to it!) to trap the bloody thing. Letting out a few quick pants, he blows a breath of air upwards ruffling his curled bangs. ] --I'm quite alright, my friend, though a bit more than lost--

[ An momentary pause when he takes a look around, he can spot a few buildings but all in all the place is rather deserted looking as far as he can see. ] -- though it is good to see a familiar face --[ That 'I'm very British and charming' smile crops up; though it's temporary because he's frowning again a second later. ]-- I must confess I've no idea where I am-- it looks like a bloody barber shop of some sort--

Charles. It's-- good to see you. [ And while the other man does look a touch ruffled; clothing and hair lopsided and scruffy from the scuffle-- he does not look as if he's in any immediate danger. ]

[ His relief at finding the other man to be in no apparent state of harm-- apart from whatever trouble that they both seem to be having with these communicator devices-- is rather significant, and he gets a better grip on the device, trying to make out any sort of detail of Charles' location. Barber shop-- surely that could be simple to find. ] I'm at what could be a saloon-- place. [ He stops to take in the surrounding landscape, not all that visible due to it being night, though he can make out the stretch of a desert into the distance, and the shapes of the town's buildings-- slung low against the sand and all quite like a scene from a Hollywood Western set. He turns back to the screen. ] Anything else that you can see? The saloon might be easier to find. [ Walking around it, and standing at the foot of the dusty stairs, Erik squints ( ... )

[ Wetting his lips he lets out a little grunt thinking it over before he flashed a smile back down to the screen and Erik. ] How about, if I may be so bold to suggest, you think as loudly as you can and I'll wave this blasted thing around and we should be able to sense one another once we've gotten within some distance? [ He can't help but be in a good mood-- which makes him feel a tad guilty, as glad as he was to see Erik he also had to acknowledge that meant Erik was as trapped as he was. Not only that but that left Raven and the others back home-- assuming they weren't here either ( ... )

[The screen has a bit of a blue haze, trapped in a bubble of magic so that it can't keep running away from him.]

You picked a bad week to show up, I'm sorry. You need any help?

I haven't picked any week to show up-- I'm not entirely sure about this place at all; [ Because it doesn't look a thing like Weschester or Oxford. He breathes out a heavy sigh, bopping the damned thing when it moves to bite him again. ]

Help I wouldn't refuse, no, perhaps directions to the nearest taxi?

Sorry, bad joke. No one chooses to come here.

If I could I would, trust me, but I'm afraid you're stuck here like the rest of us. Has anyone explained this place to you?

Yeah, I've gotten the short of it-- though I have to say that seems a tad unbelievable. [ Not that he can do much about it, his fingers are brushing his temple as he searches out for familiar places or minds-- though what he finds is not comforting. ]

I assume this means we're quite... stuck?

Where did it- Ah, there you are

...Are you alright, there? Do you- will you stay put - do you need any help?

[It's hard to speak while his own feed is playing hide and seek, but Clark tries his best]

[ Charles is appriciative, really he is. A faint but anxious smile, he's trying to be friendly all the while trapped in what looks like some arid western. ]

Perhaps-- I'm curious as to what exactly is going on-- and where everyone is?

[He managed to hold the berry down, enough for the feed to stop moving for now.]

The berries seem to have gained some kind of... well, they are apparently sentient now. It is not usually like this.

I think it would be better to talk face-to-face, if that is alright with you? I'm Clark, by the way. Clark Kent.

Pleasure Clark. [ He replies in a friendly tone, half of his face visible as he crouches over his pinned device. ] I'm Charles Xavier.

Face to face would be lovely-- I'm around, a-- ah-- barber shop? That's the best guess I've got-- I can't really see anyone in the area.

Oh-- well, I suppose that is somewhat of a comfort, though I'm left wondering why they're doing it now then.

Its the experiment for the week. I guess the Interns couldn't think of anything better.
