As the years flash by since I lost both my parents, I remember all the things that they contributed to making me the person that I am. I hope that I've done them proud

Beautiful pictures and remembrance. culture is so important. The mixture of Irish and Polish is very much part of my life.
My mom and dad also made me who I am. In a time when Catholics didn't play with others, and girls didn't do thing boys did--my parents taught us to look at the person not their culture, religion, sex, etc and judge them on themselves, something I've passed on to my kids.
Books were encouraged. I went out and played (baseball, football, and climbing trees-usually with my brothers and cousins (all boys) while reading was my special time and treat.
Opera Sunday morning with my dad was special.
Yes I remember both parents and everything they taught me.
Thank you for sharing your own memories of your parents. We're all so busy getting through each day that it's a refreshing change of pace to sit and reflect on such things every once in a while.
Among my few regrets are not asking for stories from my mom ... and actually LISTENING to more of my dad's stories. Maybe asking him leading questions.
