Smoke Gets in Your Nose
They say the sense of smell is one of the most evocative. I believe it. Certain odors can evoke strong memories in me, specific senses of time or place. Today it was wood smoke. Spring Flowers!
My tulips, hyacinth, daffodils and grape hyacinth are all poking above ground, and this morning I spotted the first three purple crocus flower buds. Yay! Plus the violets are blooming and there are signs that at least one of the hydrangeas survived the winter (the first time that's happened in three years of planting them).
