As it turns out, I was not so sick from last week's sinus infection. It was instead, a sinus infection that had the poor timing of coinciding with a 48-hour virus that has made its way through all of my immediate family. Saturday: Woke up at 4PM, got ready, drove to Marist. It was Anime Weekend, and I wanted to see the final 4 episodes of Samurai 7. It was a pretty good ending. In addition, I got to see the AMV contest, and all of the officers get pudding pies in their faces.

Friday evening marked the journey to Ikea. I had volunteered to drive, so of course my two housemates chose to get very drunk beforehand. The internets revealed that the New Haven, CT store was closer than the Long Island, NY store so there we went. Seems that everyone's talking about Grindhouse. I enjoyed it, but I think more than anything I enjoyed the Machete trailer. Sources say that it's going to be it own spinoff straight-to-DVD feature. That makes me giggle ( Read more... )

Friday night I went out to see Ghost Rider. I didn't hate it.
I think it suffered from Constantine Syndrome, where they threw in "badass" stuff to please the action fan and not the typical comic book fan. I'll refer to this person as "Kyle."

I have been roped into going to see Marie Antoinette tonight at 11. It's really the only night we can go, and Abby has a fashion project regarding that time period. I get to be the hapless tagalong. Hooray!
