To be honest, when I got on at Times Square, it was so packed that I was standing in a crowded car for the first 20 minutes. I knew Houston Street was about 7 or 8 stops away. By the time I saw the map and made the connection that the streets were ascending, it was too late. I was like, past halfway to Brooklyn.

Next time you get on the uptown and you want to go downtown, just hop off and go to the other side of the tracks and you're set. Silly goose.

That sucks that you walked all the way down to Canal. At the one stop you were probably on like a couple of blocks from the bar. Did you walk the wrong way down Varick, or did you head east on Houston? I hate getting lost in the city. I do it all the time.
