You don't have to apologize for needing support or being a bad place. We have all been there. It's not shameful, even if it may feel that way.

I'm so sorry you had such a bad night. I hope you are doing better by the time you get this.

Also, something that my self defense instructor taught us in class that I thought was really helpful, was that there are many kinds of self defense. Maybe that means running away, maybe that means fighting your way out, but maybe it also means submitting to what this person wants, because it will keep you alive. There is nothing wrong with that. It is what you do to make it, to live through the situation. No one can fault you for that.

Exactly. It's what my ex-Marine dual black belt Sensei said, too. On more than one occasion, he submitted in order to save his life, and he was one of the toughest people I've ever met. There's no shame in surviving a horrible situation.
