Daaaaaaaave? can we have a nice sit-down (or stand-up, depending on the furniture occupancy status) chat at the next THEM dinner/reconvene on "How to Tell Beloved Family that You're Going to Get Married When as a Whole They Don't Like Change and Wish You Wouldn't Get Married Till You're Forty"?

Yeah, we can take a swing at that one.

you could always apply at Starbucks! ;) And don't give that crap about you being picky about a job. They all suck in one way or another and you have no previous experience. My advice is to get one soon because all the sixteen year olds apply in May for a summer job.

heeheeheeheehee...... :D

I suppose I could... I'd rather get a job that doesn't involve having to get a food handler's license. but I guess I'm considering more options now than I originally wanted to. then again I originally didn't want to consider anything. : D

Feel free to chat away! Don't know how much help I can be because the one family member who was of that stand point I basically said "Too bad, deal with it" but sometimes it's just good to chat with someone who has been there.

Also in regards to library jobs, have you thought about the Phoenix Public Library? There is one at Metro which is what I used when I lived where you do. If you go to their site you can sign up for e-mails from them to let you know when employment opportunities come up.

If you want, I can ask about the internships at Phoenix City Hall, they have receptionist and data entry positions; if you don't mind that. It's not much--only 15 an hour--but its an internship. Government internships are good for your resume and its not retail or food handling.

ONLY 15 DOLLARS AN HOUR??

ONLY??

I would LOVE for you to look into that internship. I presume there's a priority application deadline? I would enter ALL THE DATA IN THE WORLD for FIFTEEN DOLLARS an hour... WOW.

thank you so much.

Yeah...but guess what I found out TODAY! Budget cuts! Frakking lightrail is eating up all the money. I might not even have a job in couple of months--either that or reduced pay; but we'll see.
And it sucks, I just got a 3% raise.

But email me a resume sometime before April and I'll take it in--Then, cross your fingers.

erp. I hope things turn out all right for you.

data entry huh... what the heck do you put on a resume for that... or is it a general "this is me" type resume as opposed to "this is what I can bring to the job" type?

Remind me when I get back to school to keep a eye our or set up some automatic forwarding from some of my mailing lists. The honors mailing list generally has positions listed.
