here's the rest of the update - well, some of the rest of it, anyway...
my computer has all kinds of new shiny parts in it! my brother Dominic said I should have everything preserved, except they couldn't transfer Office, but my dad still has the original CD so my brother is coming to my parents' house at some point today to install it. so basically Leah should have her spiffed-out new compy by this evening!!
right after my first final, I noticed that my engagement ring was missing. cue a month of turning the dorm upside down in a desperate attempt to find it. I was on vacation when I found it... in my backpack, where I had already searched for it about six times. it's now sized and semipermanently lodged on my left hand. woohoo! you may notice a color change. yep, due to circumstances, I have the yellow-gold-that-looks-kinda-like-red-gold version that's in all other respects identical to the original white gold ring. it is still the Ring of Wonders. the other one was beta.
I'm seriously considering looking for a replacement class for WST 100. deven and I went book-shopping yesterday. I looked at the book required for the class and decided it was a joke. a sad, shrill joke. yet not funny enough to engage my interest on any level. so... it's just for a C (cultural) general studies requirement anyway. I can probably get that in an English class that I have to take anyway... hmm, talk about last minute for Leah... I might still take it if I don't find another suitable class in time.
2009 it is, come hell or high water. woot! now I just have to stop being so knee-shakingly scared when I think about telling my relatives... not a good sign. Daaaaaaaave? can we have a nice sit-down (or stand-up, depending on the furniture occupancy status) chat at the next THEM dinner/reconvene on "How to Tell Beloved Family that You're Going to Get Married When as a Whole They Don't Like Change and Wish You Wouldn't Get Married Till You're Forty"?
p.s. That chat invitation goes for Ashley too.
I'm going through wedding-mag withdrawal. I'm itching to renew my subscriptions myself but I don't know if anyone else has, since it was on my Christmas list. so if anyone has, can you drop a little hint telling me to hold my horses? or will the magazine say "hey, you're already subscribed," put the money towards another year, or just give me duplicates each month (which would be annoying)? then again, no one's asked for my address...
sigh.
I have to have a summer job and hold it for all of June, July, and half of August. (parents' new rule.) I really want to find a job down here, but if I don't, my uncle's offered me a job as receptionist/secretary/everything-else girl at his office in Colorado where he works as an optometrist. it'd be a pretty sweet job. I'd live at their house. except I'd miss the June wedding expo (and I really don't want to because it sounds like an awesome event) and Deven would go bonkers. so I want to find something better, or at least decent, here.
I'm going to apply to both the Glendale Library and the Peoria Library as a page because I've been working in school libraries for ages. the problem is, they're rolling and I won't get a job till they have an opening, which could be never. so I need a backup. well, something that's midway between a first choice and a backup, because my uncle's job is the backup. I just don't want Deven going bonkers. his parents have offered me a job at their store before, but since they're pretty much planning on closing it in May, that kinda leaves me out of something during the summer. plus I wouldn't ever be able to count on any kind of consistent pay or anything else, because Deven's dad is... well... inconsistent to say the least.
I need driving experience so I can finally get my damn license.
