WHO; Darya, Kyouya, and Tamaki; random OC's.
WHERE; The area set aside for their team at the bake-off.
WHEN; Bake-off day
WHAT; And thus it begins...

Darya watched as the last of the crowd gathered around the stage. She had never cooked outdoors before, but everything looked much the same as it would in a kitchen, and she couldn't quite bring herself ( Read more... )

Fingers drumming excitedly on the granite countertop, Tamaki could barely contain his enthusiasm. The first few times he'd attempted baking anything had been nothing short of disastrous. His face displayed nothing of this as he grinned handsomely at the crowd. The girls in the crowd were squeaing excitedly as they waited for the chaos to ensue. His eyes darted between eggs, graham cracker crumbs and butter. Making the crust of their cheesecake would likely fall to him as it was logically the most idiot proof task they could give the King.

"Darya-san, what should I do?" Tamaki asked quickly as his hands reached towards both the salt and the sugar.

Kyouya lightly nudged the bridge of his glasses up his nose, attempting to disguise his annoyance. "Tamaki. Don't you remembered what we practiced?" He reached out cooly and picked up the box of graham crackers. His dark eyes inspected it carefully at first glance. "Make sure you can tell the difference between the salt and the sugar this time," Kyouya noted as he spotted the blonde's hands reaching out towards the two bottles of white granules (despite the fact that they were both clearly labeled to their respective contents).

It was too early to fear that the twins had tampered with anything. All of the ingredients that had been requested for the three teams had just been laid out seconds before they started in order to ensure freshness. Still, it didn't hurt to be cautious around Tamaki...

Darya had reached over and gently grabbed Tamaki's hands in order to prevent him causing trouble so early. If he would calm down just a little, the blond would probably be better at baking. He just tended to jump the gun a bit, and, as she had learned during their practice baking sessions, Tamaki jumping the gun lead to inedible baked goods ( ... )

Putting on a look of being extremely affronted at Kyouya's accusation, Tamaki grabbed the graham crackers out of his grasp. "Of course I remember how to make the cheesecake. Do you think I was born yesterday ( ... )

Nekozawa peeked over the bush he had been hiding from to get a better look at Suoh-san's table. He had watched the competition begin from his rather thorny seat, and knew that the Ouran hosts had only recently put out the freshest ingredients onto their table. Any other person would have argued that there would have been very little chance that someone had poisoned the confectioneries by now. The food had been carefully guarded and everyone had seen them make their entrance only a few minutes earlier ( ... )

If one thing could be said about Nekozawa, it was that he was good at sneaking up on people. Very good. Darya made a startled yelp of surprise as he suddenly jumped up behind her, and she immediately dropped the knife when his hand covered hers. Turning to look at him with wide eyes, she flushed faintly at her reaction, though her shock was soon gone from her face and replaced with a frown. She gazed up into the older student's hood, barely making out blue eyes ( ... )

Nekozawa froze at the sight of his "hero" holding a knife in his hand. Even if he had been the champion of his life during the last five minutes of his life, he recognized that a weapon-wielding Ootori-san was not the safest person to be around ( ... )

Kyouya watched patiently--now with any trace of emotion gone from his face. Nekozawa approached him for an instant, before dropping down next to Darya and offering her two vials. The corners of his eyes narrowed slightly at this, but he let is pass. Needless to say, he wasn't possessed (he was merely the Shadow King), and most likely the vials would be nothing but some flavored water of something.

But Tamaki certainly cheered up as soon as Nekozawa made his typically dramatic exit. "Of course, Tou-san," he agreed, returning to the cutting board and his strawberries. Ah, wait... the current batch was ruined. The corners of Kyouya's mouth pulled down in a frown. And after all that work on cutting the strawberries... he had to do it again.

The bespectacled boy reached for another red fruit (as glumly as Kyouya could manage) and began to carefully slice once again.

Darya barely had time to give Nekozawa an odd look before he was gone as quickly as he had arrived. Kyouya possessed? Well, he did look rather demonic at the moment... Her fingers wrapped around the vials Nekozawa had pressed into her hands, and she slipped them into the pocket of her apron before glancing one last time in the direction the senpai had disappeared in. There wasn't time to examine them right now; she would definitely have to find him later and ask him what in the world he thought was going on.

"Suspicious?" she mumbled to herself, almost laughing, and she was about to ask Tamaki if she had heard what Nekozawa had said, but he was helping her up and asking if Kaa-san was ready to continue. Seeing that he was (though was he sulking?), she pulled out some more cream cheese, sugar, and eggs, and began the process of mixing them together again ( ... )

Rain heaved a sigh and bent over to grab his two bags. He knew it was probably a bad idea to come and see what was going on. He should have just asked some of the girls in class tomorrow. "I'm sure you two shrimps could make it just fine on your own, wandering in and out of the little spaces like little kitty-cats."

Being around Aria too long wore him out. It was one thing being around Yuu--the brother was always more relaxed and laid back and didn't kick him. Aria... was such a spazz.

Without saying anything else, Rain followed after the two as they made their way up through the crowd of yellow skirts towards the stage that housed the three students from 2-A. By the looks of it, they had to start over, and each one looked annoyed or flustered for some reason or another.

"Ah! Here's your chance, Aria-imouto! Ask them if you can have cake."

"They're not finished yet," Aria pointed out, peering around Yuu's arm. "And I don't think I want whatever they were making before, if they have to start over again." She paused, thinking about this idea for a moment, before continuing quite openly, "Niichan never has to start over. His cooking is wonderful. Maybe I'll just wait to get home and ask for cake..."

The youngest of the trio eyed her stepbrother as she said so--after all, hadn't that cloaked...person?...shoved some sort of vial at one of the contestants? It didn't seem precisely safe to eat anything that might have something from that person in it ( ... )

Yuu didn't argue with Aria about him not messing up. He could think of a few times he hadn't turned out something edible, but... with a mental shrug, he nodded at his step-sister. "We can bake something when we get home," he agreed ( ... )

Kyouya looked as though he was going to talk to Darya-san. Little did he (and the dark ones) know that he, UMEHITO NEKOZAWA, would be there to save the day.

Gripping the flat metal in his hands, he came up behind their tent. Making sure he was directly behind the dark-haired boy with glasses, he pounced.

He leaped onto one of the tables near Kyouya, screaming, "FOR HUMANITY AND THE DARK ONES!"

the pan came down with a resounding "CLONG!" on Ootori-san's head. Kyouya's face landed face first into the bowl of cut strawberries with a not so pleasant, "SLPUSH."

Nekozawa raced to his side, and pulled him out of the bowl. "Gomen ne, Ootori-san," he murmured propping the unconscious Shadow King against the sink. He then rolled out his artillery of potions and magical items on his portable dolly. "But it's the only way I can protect you from the Dark Ones."

He turned to face the other two in the book. "Kyobayashi-san! Suoh-san! I need your help IMMEDIATELY."
