WHAT; And thus it begins...
Darya watched as the last of the crowd gathered around the stage. She had never cooked outdoors before, but everything looked much the same as it would in a kitchen, and she couldn't quite bring herself

"Darya-san, what should I do?" Tamaki asked quickly as his hands reached towards both the salt and the sugar.

It was too early to fear that the twins had tampered with anything. All of the ingredients that had been requested for the three teams had just been laid out seconds before they started in order to ensure freshness. Still, it didn't hurt to be cautious around Tamaki...

Completely ignoring the blonde's question (he was sure that Host Club King didn't want it answered anyways), Kyouya spared a glance up at the sun, knocking the glasses with the back of his hand out of habit. It wasn't going to be very cold, but with all the extra work they were forced to do on top of the heat coming from the ovens, it could have dropped a few degrees ( ... )

She hoped so.
Pulling out a bowl of her own, she beat the eggs and vanilla together with the whisk, seeing that Kyouya had the cream cheese covered. She decided that the shadow king had the right idea, and pushed the sleeves of her uniform up as much as she could. It struck her then how nice this was, how it was almost -- no, it was, comfortable. The practice seemed to be paying off. A happy smile curved her mouth, and had she been by herself, she probably would have been humming.

The twins had to be defeated. Time with Haruhi depended on it. "Come my faithful teammates, we shall succeed in this task and then... ah Kyouya... what was the prize again? Does it involve my beloved daughter?" the blond queried.

"Ah," the shadow king started, his hand hesitating with the mixer caught under his fingers. His brain rushed to fill in the appropriate answer. And he knew the blonde would eagerly fall for it. "Be patient, Tou-san," Kyouya consoled, resuming the last few beats of the cream cheese before passing the bowl to Darya. "The prize itself is still yet incomplete, so telling you now would spoil the surprise." He offered Tamaki a patient glance.

"The crust won't take much longer, and the filling is almost done; we need a pan, and someone can start cutting up the strawberries, please?" She figured she'd take charge since no one else seemed to be doing so. She also hoped Kyouya would handle the strawberries; the thought of Tamaki with a knife was almost...frightening. Turning on the mixer, she began to incorporate the eggs into the cream cheese/sugar mixture, letting her teammates get to it.

"Ah, Darya-san, do I add sugar into the crust again or not?"

...Which was a very tedious and meticulous job, he quickly realized, watching another red glob of fruit roll out from under his knife, across the counter top, over the edge, and to the floor. It stared up at him, sad and abandoned, no longer to partake in a relationship with the cream cheese.
With his foot, Kyouya slid it up against the counter discreetly out of sight from Tamaki--and mostly importantly, Darya.
He hoped they had bought enough strawberries.

Turning the oven on to start it preheating, Darya glanced at her teammates and smiled. She was having fun, even if the other two weren't, though she had the feeling that the only person not enjoying himself was Kyouya. He seemed to not be very adept with a knife, though she was hesitant to bother him. It was unlikely he would take kindly to her helping him, though she did have an idea.
"Here, I'll help." Instead of trying to take his knife away and show him, she pulled out another knife and another cutting board, and reached for a strawberry. "It'll get done faster if there are two of us."
