“Incendio,” Tonks growled. Remus hastily shoved a plate underneath the issue of the Prophet she had just set aflame.
Severus looked up from his journal. “What now?”
“’How Out of Touch Women Are,’” Tonks quoted, fuming.
Severus smirked. “Certainly not true in your case. Given how often you collide with people, places, and things-”
Tonks snarled and hurled a scone at him. Remus frowned, but said nothing.
Tonks and Snape both glanced at him and then at each other. A sudden sizzle of understanding-one edged with disappointment-flashed between them.
Remus pushed his chair back and left the room.
