Well, aside from all the reading... though this book, The Contest of Christian and Muslim Spain is far superior to Muslim Spain and Portugal. Though, it still goes on and on about territorial gains and losses and successions of kings all named the same names. I don't care much for political history. I get through it by remembering all the jokes ( Read more... )

Oh Amy, I love your life. I am so jealous. I should probably stop being jealous of other people's lives and go make something of mine, but it's hard to create the feelings that you write about - and experiences that you capture so wonderfully; I love reading your writings, I really do - all on my own out of thin air.

Also sometimes I'm like, "You can't force it. It happens when you least expect it, when you're not looking for it. If it's meant to be, it will be." But then other times I think, "What the hell is going to happen if I just sit around here on my ass WAITING for it? NOTHING. If I want something, why don't I go out there and at least try to look for it?" And then I make attempts to get what I want and just get screwed. Baaah!

I miss you a lot and love reading your posts. :)

Let me know if you will in fact be in Chicago!

I'm glad you enjoy my posts! And you definitely have to go after what you want. (and being a very driven woman, I know you'll get it.) I love Casey and I love grad school most in my life right now but you're right, neither of those things just happened while I was waiting for them and I did get screwed over (mildly) by a few guys (and frickin yale and oxford not accepting me!) before I got them. I think they last cause they're meant to be. I'm still working hard on the making-close-friends thing... it's going ok, but not as good as I'd like. Oh, and I'm jealous of you too and your upcoming trip to Switerland!!!!!!! how adventurous!

My plan is to be in Chicago over my spring break weekend. The plan will only be altered by unforseen circumstances like weather or homework, though I'll do my best to keep the later at bay. I'll call you when that trip gets closer to make plans. Me you and Heather one night?
