"Shouldn't Wolverine put the kid down first?"

Jul 30, 2006 12:39

So the universe has decided to give me a pretty balanced weekend. By 'balanced', of course, I mean that some things suck goats while some things rule beyond the telling. Behold:

Item 1: Ow, ow, ow. Bottom right wisdom tooth (the one I wanted extracted with its opposite, goddammit) is grossly inflamed, and all surrounding glands and tissue as well ( Read more... )

books, music, movies, university, teeth

*weeps* I know! It had really cool moves and dancing and silly awesome songs and Eliza Dushku!

"Dude, Laurence is totally gay for his dragon."

Now there's a sentence you don't hear often. And I'm glad I've poisoned the graphic design part of your brain. Bad book covers make Baby Jesus cry.

Bring It On is awesome. It has spirit fingers and a parody of "All That Jazz" so I utterly approve.

Get your teeth better, now. Don't have the Cass males' fear of dentistry!

I'm glad you're living the dream.
Love,
B.

Oh, God, the spirit fingers! The spirit fingers were brilliant! And of course the Clovers won, and the Clovers were actually really, really cool, and it had wit and other very unexpected things ( ... )

Oh, oh, I love The Weakerthans and I think I have one or two of their albums lying around here somewhere, if you want me to upload them for you. Just say the word.

Also, extracting wisdom teeth is one of the things I wish people had told me to expect about growing up. :\ It came as a total surprise when my dentist told me they were starting to grow in and I might need them pulled soon. Ah, wisdom teeth.

Oh, would you? That would be brilliant! I've just been into all the CD shops around here and I've had no luck whatsoever in finding them. No-one seems to have heard of them around here, which is bothersome.

Ah, wisdom teeth. They're something you're weirdly nostalgic about until eating makes you cry. Oh, sweet painkillers: where would I be without you?

Err, hmm, they appear to all be in m4a format. Do you still want them?

*shuffles feet* I confess to being very ignorant about music file types. I can convert m4a files to play in something like WMP or iTunes? That's all that matters.

Even if I can't, it was still really cool of you to offer!

Just catching up now, but...

Item 1: Ow. Sorry. I've been successfully avoiding thinking about all wisdom-tooth related issues for years now. I'm expecting this to come back to bite me any day now - ha - and yet can't get over the anesthesia thing. Because, you know, I've observed surgeries in my time, and operating doctors freak me out. I don't know if it's a coping mechanism or what, but they are not nearly serious enough for my tastes. I mean, life and death. Do not discuss lunch plans while I am on the table. Do not plan your next golf outing or make lewd jokes about the suction equipment. Eyes on my organs, please. Jeesh. Should I ever require their talents, I want to tape them. I want them to know I'm taping them. None of that goofing off ( ... )

*squeak*

I love this song so much. It is a song of tough cat-love, and it... it needs to be immortalised in fic, somehow, right now. And now I'm even less patient to find an album of these guys.

Excuse me, I'm going to listen to it for a third time. :D

I've got a free minute of unmonitored net time - sssh... the family thinks I sleep occasionaly - so I'm making an attempt to get the files to you, but I'm not sure about my success rate. I run a Mac, for one thing, so whether my compression program will be copacetic with your decomp is anyone's guess. Here goes nothing. *g*

Ah, damn. They all came out as 1kb files o' nothing - curse rival computer companies! Don't they know that we like transferring things?

Thank you so much for trying! I'm all excited about this music - even if it doesn't come through, I do now have the motivation to track them down on the internet.
