cat toy

On Saturday, I needed to go to Petco to buy my kitten some kitty litter, however every time I am there, I always end up buying some sort of over priced toy, which she will surely demolish sometimes in a matter of days unless we hide the toy from her until we get home from work. So I figured I would try to make the knitted mouse from the "Stitch and ( Read more... )

How did you train her to fetch? That is adorable, and kudos on the homemade toy!

Oh, I didn't train her, one day, she was playing, and she dropped a toy at my feet. I recognized the sign (as this is the second cat I have had that fetches) and threw the toy, then she brought it back. It is very cute. When she puts the toy at your feet and you don't throw in a satisfactory amount of time, she starts to bite your feet and ankles. Which is less cute.

My Patches was big on fetching, too. Except that after about 5 throws, she'd start only bringing the toy halfway back. Then 1/4 of the way back. Then she'd just look at me from down the hall.

I wish I'd been knitting when she was little. Oh well, after grad school I'll have a cat again and they'll be knitting spoiled.

Another great cheap toy (Patches' favorite) is a bent up chenille pipe cleaner. I don't recommend leaving it out while you're not there, but it's a great fetch toy and very cheap.

I wish my kitten would play fetch. He just picks things up in his mouth and runs around the room like a nut.

Very cute!
